Transfer case lube.

That is assuming I can get every drop of it into the transfer case plus need to check with a litle overflow to be sure. Some loss will be there in any kind of fluid transfer device I will be using.

funnel with a long hose fed through the rear wheel well. Let gravity do the work. I dont bother with pumps anymore.

that's not the same exact one i use. I put mine together from left over parts from the hardware store.

I did the tcase fluid change with one can of Toyota liquid gold. I pumped it out and even though I couldn’t get every last drop out of the can the tcase was a little overfilled and some drizzled out. Next time I’ll try the funnel/tube/gravity technique.

i use the same setup for ATF changes too.. in fact i use the same hose and funnel! I know i know im mixing fluids. I do try my best to push a paper towel through the hose to clean out residual fluids.

I gave up on those expensive fluid pumps. I end up wasting so much good fluid

I was gonna ask you about that! I recently changed my ATF and have been hanging the hose to let all the fluid drain out.

Once I used a can of Toyota Gear Oil (the good stuff in the old tin can!) and spilled a few drops on the shop floor, I swear I saw the little Japanese fairies cry out in shame as they quickly died...

Though, the crack in the shop floor where it spilled looks like a gold vein now... :P

Interesting.I thought about this as well. Let me see if I have any pipes and funnels laying around. Last time I did this on my 07 4Runner, it was painful to pump that thick oil in.

I do have a crack in my garage and might use some leftovers for it.
