Transmission fluid mode?

Drained and filled my transmission '07 SR5 4WD. I'm using the paperclip in the OBD port hack to check the temp to drain the excess, but the light won't stay on. I swtich from Drive to Neutral fast, the light flashes, I put it in park, remove the clip, and the AT light/Drive light never come on.

How long do you typically have to run it in park to get the tranny up to temp? I'm in a cold environment, 40* overnight and 58* now...

I didnt use a paperclip in the ODB port to get the temp light to come on for my 08 v6, the manual just says to move the shift level X amount of times to engage the trans temp light. Try without the paperclip.

You can also use a infrared temp gun to check the pan temp, but the on board temp light works great in my experience... its only takes about 3-4 minutes of low speed driving to get close to the temp range to check level.
