Transmission weeping?

I have a 2014 Trail that I bought new. I haven't had much of a chance to drive this vehicle much (has maybe 1900 miles on it) and spends much of it's time in a small steel building.

This summer I noticed that there is ATF weeping out of the transmission where the shifting linkage goes into it. It seems to be very, very slow since it hadn't even lost enough to cause a spot on the floor. Is this a side effect of not driving it and leaving it in a building that gets hot in the summer? Should I be taking it to the dealer to get this fixed? Thanks.

Might as well take it to the dealer. That's why we buy new cars with warranties.

Out of curiosity, how are you storing it? How often are you driving it?

Should be warranty, take it in - no need to get a forum's blessing if there's an obvious issue on a new warrantied vehicle.

Your car has the crying transmission syndrome. It's fatal. Just drive it out back and shoot it now. :boom:

Wow, you're spending a lot of money on a fine vehicle to not drive it. Purchase price plus storage. Someday someone will be very glad to buy your low mileage 4Runner.

My job keeps me away for a few weeks at a time, so it might get driven once a month.

I originally got it as a decent 4wheel drive that was handier than my F250. Unfortunately I've just been too busy to drive it much. When I get time I'll have to get it to a dealer then just get into the habit of using it more often. I agree it's bad to spend that much cash on a nice vehicle to not use it.

Anywho, kind of a bad way to make my first posts on here, but I like the community and hopefully I can have some decent posts in the future.

Oh... you silly silly consumers. Sure nothing should leak, it's just the manufacturer's designation of a "leak" and your designation of a "leak" are often two different things.
