This idiot needs to take a physics class before postulating or ranting about stuff he knows by reading 4x4 mag.
Never have I heard brakes and compliance used together in the same sentence except when dealing with legal brake issues.

For those of you who are sounding a bit leary... those are not the standard brakes. I think they were like a 3k dollar upgrade for the tundras themselves?
yes this is the TRD tundra "big brake package". this is the tundra brake upgrade for tundras which would be like a double xl super awesome stop a t-rex from pulling you tbu on our 4runners. haha. thats why i want them but.... i still wouldnt pay $1000 for them

They're fairly local to me. I was gonna low ball him at like $300 in 2 months when they don't sell.

Ive not even heard of anyone trying these on the 4runner... I wonder if it would even work? I know the master cylinder barely keeps up with the standard tundra brakes.... Now try "Tundra Big Brake Kit"

Some of you seem to be forgetting that the brake don't stop a vehicle, the tires do. There is NO added value when sizing up in brakes if your current brake can already make you skid.
You want better brakes than the 231's? Get better tires. The 231's are already oversized for the 4runner and will stop the 4runner towing limit as well as your tires will let them.

i dont think anyone is saying the 231 tbu isnt sufficent. just that these would be awesome to have for the rarity, bling and upgrade factors.
and btw, i can and have over heated and warped my 231's in a matter of minutes when im out prerunning and pushing my truck hard so even though the extra stopping power wouldnt be very useful to me, the additional cooling and less fade these would provide would be wonderful.

Brakes don't stop a vehicle? Try stopping at a Red light without using them then. And there is is an absolute value in upgrading brakes. Less pedal fade, less brake pad wear, cooler brake temps, etc. Come on, you're better than that.
