Talked with Jacque over at TRDparts4u...and he said he'd do us for $399 with free shipping. He did mention they're so new that they have 2 in stock now, but expect more in the very near future. Their customer service is top notch.

Just picked mine up. To quote from the movie Commando: "You know what I like best? The price".
Long story short, when I closed my Trail, I had my dealer agree to sell me a "few" parts at $1 dollar over their cost, specifically the supercharger should it ever come out and then if I want it. They agreed. I ordered and bought my cargo cover already. When I saw this post I called my guy Tuesday and ordered it. Comes in today, I am expecting around $336 based on the "wholesale cost" I read in this thread. No worries, had to be a good deal whatever the cost. Guy quotes me much higher, I complain, he talks to manager and the part is given to me FREE!!!!!!!!!!!! :guitar3: Box is in my co-workers Acura since he drove today. Hope to put her on this weekend. Thanks Toyota, and thanks to guys like Harper who will hopefully post a nice install thread so I see what the hell I'm doing :thumb3:

Looking forward to seeing it installed. I'm curious if the box design will prevent the whistle I get from my K&N. From the looks of it, it should facilitate the adding of a snorkel, if someone is ballsy enough to drill holes in their new T4R! Subscribed.

I've been doing a lot of reading about possibly retrofitting either FJ safari snorkel or a 4th gens to the 5th. Or I might just wait til someone comes out with one. The last time I wheeled my rig, I was just a couple inches from locking it up.

I called airflow america to check the status of the 5th gen snorkel but the guy said they are waiting on the company out in australia and it may even take till the end of summer. So retrofitting may be the answer for now.

TRD Intake installed! The install took about an hour was pretty straight forward uses the same part# filter as the stock TRD drop in and as far as the whistle yes it has a whistle but I have to really listen for it over my mud tires and exhaust. The intake isn't any louder the stock here are some pics for your viewing pleasure!

Fitment is good the rubber is a real tight fit on the intake tube the instructions say use some silicone lube to make it slide in better I only had some PB penetrater so I used a small amount of that to help slide it in. The other thing that was kind of a pain was taking all the tape off from around the MAF to make it reach the new position of the MAF. But other then those few things fits pretty good performance is good it feels like it pulls alot harder at the top end of the rpm range. Gas mileage hasn't improved yet but I have been kinda hot rodding it today lol

Now that's a great price! You won't need a DIY with this once you see the instructions. They are some of the best I've seen and have pics for every step and it looks real easy.

Finally finished the install this afternoon. Took me about 5 hours...damn flash floods and tornado warnings! Install was a breeze, actual time was only about 45 min.
Had to use a few extra washers on the back-right lower air box mounting point to get the hardware to sit flush against something. I only unwrapped the MAF wiring far enough to not pull and reach the new connection. Trimmed the wire loom and taped her all up. Highly suggest you use some lubricant to grease the fittings, made the final install of the TRD CAI very easy.
Its pouring rain, but I did take the truck out for a quick round the block. There is a definite whistle when you get on the gas a bit, although I couldn't hear it over my radio. I doubt there is any SOTP gain here and I don't expect any.
Well made product, directions were very easy to follow, install was a breeze (only scraped one knuckle). Whole hell of a lot more room to work in on this truck than my 5.7L LS1!

Dispence was your MAF connector really tight against the intake? Today I actually filed some of the intake off where the MAF bolts against to take some pressure off the connector.
