TRD intake box

No, but I've seen the intake pipe sold separately. That's where you'll get some sound from since it alleviates the extra air chambers. Might even see some gains in HP.

Yep , saw that, however the problem lies in the MAF sensor mounts on the box & tube has it mounted on it big problem !

Thank you tristero exactly what I needed . I gotz to get my kid to show how to do all this pasting & all this cool shite you guys do !! lameo old man from a different age .

Get the kit or nothing at all. The tube is not the same diameter as the stock intake box.

I assumed this, but I haven't seen one in person yet. Thanks!

I was planning on ordering the whole kit at some point. Maybe post roof rack. I ran into the link I posted at some point to see if it would be cheaper to buy the components individually.

Just adding up from what trddallas its 246$ + say even 25$ for shipping that's 100$ cheaper seems like a no brainer ?

Exactly! I would just buy the whole kit. Change out the oiled filter to a AFE PRO DRY so you don't need to oil the filter and risk gumming up your MAF.

How about:
1) Pull the resonators and cap the ports (sound)
2) Add K&N/TRD/AFE filter (maybe performance & sound)
3) if you really really want to, add the 'inlet flow accelerator', which probably lowers your water fording ability for the engine intake by ~.5-1 inches

Already have afe dry hence the need for the box, which even tho it's sold in 2 pieces still cheaper !:whistle:

Is it smaller?

Stock box has 4 clips, TRD has 2 clips and 2 plastic overlapping tabs that engage the box. I would not mix and match. I am not a fan of the 2 overlapping tabs on the TRD box. I find that I think I have the lid on as good as I can get it and then it will pop off allowing compartment air to bypass the filter. It usually takes me a few tries to get it set securely.

:boxing: So after help from tristero Gracias !! All in 258$ plus already had my afe dry filter . 3 pieces bought from amazon & lower & upper box 161.71$ from camelbacktoy. Little bit cheaper than buying whole kit . I 1st of tried to just do intake tube like my 03 taco & keep everything else stock NOT ! So then I got the intake accelerator & clamps for 15$ & 35$ respectively . Then thx to tristero found toyofdallas for parts no then checked camelback they wanted 81$ for upper box while toyofdallas had it for 112$ ! And that's the end of that story ! Moving on to installation Toystry gracias sir ! He ain't kidding about silicone spray needed 18 yr old to get that one (pulled left gonad) sorry don't use it anymore anyhow !:smow: Very pleased with how it all came together . Oh ya I did not know it had an hydrocarbon filter inside , might take it out like we do in 4th gen ones ? So there :ear:

I've noticed that there is no mention of anyone in 5th gen having removed the HC filter ? Very common mod on the 4ths , any reason why it's not & I know there are some of us that came up to 5ths ?

Possibly because you'll see a 10X improvement over this mod if you remove your spare tire or side view mirrors.
