I have a Salsa Mukluk that I love riding in the snow and mud.

2nd Chance - thanks for all of the details, your 4Runner looks great! I just got a new limited in grey/redwood and I'm excited to do some of the modifications in your build thread.

I wish I could afford another fat bike or have the space to add another one to my ceiling. But I am confident my wife would kill me if I did.

You have to order the hood and the scoop separately and the good news is your stock under hood liner will work on the new hood.



Depending on your budget I would pick up a used Farley and you will be set for life with that bike. A lot of my friends have converted to the Farley and love as it is also a perfect all season bike.

When the roads are horrible I put the bike in the back of the truck and just lay a moving blanket down. If the roads are dry then it goes on the roof.




Agreed 100% and the are beautiful bikes.


I should also add that I run a GX drivetrain as it is a set it go drivetrain.

One quick question that I may of missed - what did you do for your spare with your new wheel/tires? Did you 5 full size or leave stock spare on?

Just in reading your build, I should of known you went with 5.

I've been searching on the tire "sizes" to see if I could get away with using the full size wheel as a spare in case of emergency.

Originally I was going o keep the 265 as my spare but then I picked up a 5th TRD for $100.00 so I was like when I sell some more parts I will just buy the tire to match.

She's done! Didn't do a great job trimming the fender liner but it's fine. Maybe one day I get the ones that fit and put them in but I'm happy with it for now. Is there a good reason for the fender liner to be perfect anyway? Pretty proud of myself taking this on. Scariest part was drilling a hole for the parking sensors but it was too bad. The hardest part was taking off the old bull bar bracket. Holy moly were those screws on tight. Anyway here is the final product. The paint match isn't 100% but he also said it'd be hard to match 100% with pearls and they usually blend it. Don't feel like spending $500 on that right now. I also have the trd pro garnish minus the upper grill piece. Will recover from all the stuff I bought and get that later. Also anyone need a blizzard pearl limited front? .

How much was it to get your front bumper painted?

None at all as this is the dimensional the same size as the stock tire.

On a side not I now have a 275 under the truck and it fit's perfectly.

Trust me I understand and I have built at least 20 or more cars & trucks in my life. I still torn about adding a 1'' top spacer lift to my truck to get the nose up a little. I don't really need it but I really want.

or do I just wait and buy the new Fox TRD suspension and then add the Top Spacer ?

Sooner or later Chi-Town 4x4 Jo and I will be talking about the next suspension lift.

haha - I don't have 20 cars modded or built or anything close, but enough cars I've done some modding on that I told myself no more on this 4runner. That won't last.

And funny you mention the 1" spacer - I won't do any suspension, but that is one thing I feel like I need to do on my front end. Plus I can't do much more currently as the 4runner barely fits in the garage now.

Originally I installed the factory Nerf bars and now the truck has RCI Rock Sliders on it that I picked up from the guys at Chi-Town 4 x 4. I like the RCI as they actually go up instead of straight out. In other words they are not flat when you look at them. Man I hop that makes sense

In this post you mentioned you replaced the TRD Pro Rear Lift Gate Handle Panel, but doesn’t the TRD Pro have an actual key hole in the panel while the Limited has the two buttons? Curious as to how you made that work.

Hi Jake,

The plan was to replace it but i didn't because I have the power buttons on mine to open and close from the outside. So I just left it.
