Why don't they make a unit to take up both the space for the factory head unit and the a/c unit below?

Don't most head units now have the ability to control the a/c?

Yeah, a well-known local shop. They knew exactly what to do and it's spot-on. $115, done within 24 hours. Couldn't be happier. Kinda forget about it.

Here’s mine with the metra kit with their charcoal metallic finish. It’s a decent match from them. I also used the factory radio metal brackets to mount the radio and then slide the dash kit over it. Tip: don’t tighten the bottom bolts until you center the radio and dash kit and trim.

I also have the scosche kit but wasn’t able to find a paint shop that was willing to do it. Went to 4 different places and they said they either can’t match or their paints aren’t made for interiors. So I just opted for Metra and am so far happy with it.

My mic is hidden on the edge of headliner near the rear view mirror/crawl controls. You can't see it and the clarity seems to be great.

I have it at the top left of the windshield right next to the pillar. I ran the cable down the pillar and under the steering wheel to the radio.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the W8500NEX + Maestro + Metra DK and have a couple of questions.
Can you retain the use of the factory mic?
Can you retain the use of the USB/AUX port?
Do you have any regrets dumping the OEM unit?

I have a Kenwood Excelon DNX 994s and I wanted to hook up XM radio. I went to an installer and they wanted to charge me to put in XM radio. I know data link TO2 would retain the factory XM. Am I right? I would just need to purchase the Idata link TO2 and my subscription to XM and I am good to go? The installer wanted me to buy the tuner which the 4runner already comes with? Can anyone add any insight?

I am swapping in a Kenwood Excelon and struggling with getting radio, xm, and blue tooth connection.
I installed with the Maestro MRR2 for steering wheel controls, the TO3 wiring kit (I have a 2020 TRD Pro), and the additional TO2 kit for GPS, antennae, etc.

Not sure what I have hooked up incorrectly, but cannot get signal to XM, radio, or connect my android via bluetooth.

Any thoughts or guidance?

Any reputable installers in the Denver area? Hate to go that route, but may need it as a back up.
