Is it just because of the winch you chose? The instal instructions don't mention needing to plasma cut anything. Curious if just a different wench would be easier to instal without needing a plasma cutter.

Actually the weight of the hybrid bumper alone is okay. With the winch added (total around 150 lbs) I lost about 3/4" in front height on my factory Trail springs. It rode fine but soft, and I upgraded to OME 885 2" front springs to get it back to normal ride height and capacity. And I figure there is enough reserve with those springs for a 2nd battery eventually.

Sorry a plasma cutter was used to enlarge the opening for the Rigid 28" LED bar that I had.
You still have to cut away part of the bumper to install the new one.

I got everything installed on friday and today the front does seem to drop quite a bit. Maybe I will need stronger springs like what you have done

My ToyTec lift came today, (Black Fri special) but still have about two weeks before I take delivery.

Yes mine are still stock. Not going to get new tires till I need them. Save that money's for the bumper and roof rack.
At toyota now to switch out top UCAs and get an alignment. UCAs being replace under warranty from the loose c clips there. Apparently they are not removable and the entire part needs to be replaced. Good for me, free alignment that I wanted to get anyways
What cause the uca to go bad

Uca wasn't bad, but the c-clip on top of the gasket was not tight, which cause a noise like a washer jiggling on every bump. There's a thread here somewhere that pinpointed the issue. And since they don't have a replacement clip available, they had to change out the entire uca on both sides.

Garage clearance
I have a couple questions for you all. Just traded in my 15 black for a 16 Quicksand. Saw the color and had to have it. Anyway, after lifting or leveling and those that added a Gobi Stealth rack, are any of you having issues with clearance hight going into your garages. I'm in Vegas/Henderson so we probably have similar garage openings. 2nd question off topic but while I have you all... how about an opinion? I am thinking of Line-xing (in black) the entire front grill, wheel well trim and rear bumper and panel it is mounted to. Would love to hear some thoughts on it. Thanks in advance.

Why are ou wanting to linex those pieces? That question I'd say to each their own I personally would think it look tacky on a brand new 4runner

Not me. The UCAs are fine with this kit.

I think the kits are intended to tweak out a bit more lift out of the TRD without having to get new components like UCA's or spend $$ on a full blown after market suspension kit.
I probably need more education on after-market UCA's but my understanding is that they allow for larger lifts (3" or above) to get the wheel alignment closer to factory specs. and perhaps a bit more articulation from the ball-joint/uniball.
I don't know that any more performance would be gained by getting aftermarket UCA's with the TRD suspension?
You brought up a good point. Will UCA's even do much with the suspension to this kit to justify the money?
Wanted something different. I could see the rear bumper in that color getting all beat up and looking like crap. Don't want steel bumpers so thought Line-x is the next best thing. I also like the contrast of the Quicksand and black especially from a side view so thought the Line-x'ed fenders would accomplish that. That left the front bumper/grill and that just ties it all together in my eyes.
