TRD Pro or Trail Premium with KDSS

Go with the PRO! Not only is it limited which will give you a better resale, it looks awesome! Here's mine so far. Added the Toytec 2" lift designed specifically for the TRD suspension, so you get a lift and to keep the TRD suspension.

I went through the same debate. 1) I had to have the sunroof. 2) I wanted the kdss and 3) I knew I wanted a better lift than the TRD Stock suspension. I am really glad I went this route! My .02$.

I really like your wheels WD. They look like they were born on the truck.

Thanks! Actually the front windows have been tinted to match but I think I missed it by a couple of %!?

Talk to your tinter nicely. He/she may be willing to cut you a break on redoing it.

I told my guy "Match the front exactly to the back" and thats what he did. Before we applied it he put a sample on the front window and we triple checked it including a flashlight from inside, out. It's perfect.

When they match, it looks so fluid.

Edit: Also I should note we had to play with several different types of tint. The 4Runner has a bit of something in it that makes it harder to match. Not sure what the color combo is that Toyota uses, but we compared several variations before we hit it on the head.

Sure. I called my tint guy (can't find my invoice) and he said it was:

3M FX Premium 15%

If you can have your tinter find that, put a sample up to the window (over the stock tint) and that should be the crown jewel.

Here is the funny thing: Colorado law says windows (all, not just the front) can be tinted to no less than 27% light transmission.

If I added 15% to the stock tint in the front windows and they now match the rears perfectly that tells me one of two things:

1) Every new 4Runner on the road is illegally tinted on the back windows from the factory

OR

2) My math skills are not as crisp as I thought.



That being said, I have seen many, many vehicles tinted darker than mine here. I think a lot of it is what you are driving and what you are up to. 2015 4Runner draws little attention from the law (unless you are being an idiot). 1980 Chevy Caprice Donk with 26" gold rims - attention.

Trail Premium w/ KDSS. Put in $500 into getting the TRDPro front end and it will look exactly the same. Wheels on the TRD are 17x7 and if you want to go bigger like 33+ you will have a better piece of mind going with aftermarket 17x8-8.5 wheels. Research and see why 17x7 wheels might be a problematic with larger tires.

TE probably has better off-road performance too due to the KDSS system which the TRD lacks. If you are like most guys on here you will want to lift it, again unless you want spacers on your TRD suspension then go for it. I'd rather go with a full aftermarket system designed ground up to give me that 3"/2" lift so I can fit those bigger tires under there.

Only reason why I'd get a TRD Pro is for that inferno or sand color
