Has anyone put Matte Bronze wheels on a Quicksand TRD Pro yet???

I'm getting ready to order a set on FN Wheels Five Star in Matte Bronze. I would love to see a set on the truck to verify the color........

I ended up with the magnetic grey but that was just because I couldn't find the truck in quicksand. That's a stand-out color for sure.

I did. I don't really like the height or rivets on the BW flares, but what really killed them for me was the price and the fact that I'd pretty much have to run spacers to keep the look I wanted because of the extra .75" or so of flare (to keep the wheels from looking sucked in when they sort of borderline have that look stock). So long story short I decided to try dipping the flares first to see whether I liked the look, and now I have to say that any time I see a Quicksand without them I think it looks naked.

Here you go...

EDIT: I dipped the roof rails too because I think its asinine that they left them bare metal with all the other black accents on the truck. Way better now, IMHO.

Looks great! I really like the dipped flares and bars!! When I am ready to purchase my USED Quicksand TRDP, I will be sure to do the same(probably the hood scoop too!) Who knows maybe I'll only have to do the scoop if you, [MENTION=133649]Angelo[/MENTION] are willing to sell next summer/fall when I am ready to buy.:fishing:

Love the quicksand color! But sadly there wasn't any available at the time I was looking for a TRD Pro.

Maybe if I get the rig dirty enough, I can turn into quicksand for a little bit

Everyone has a price, I suppose, but I love this truck. Still planning on slapping some [MENTION=131444]C4 Fabrication[/MENTION] sliders on it at some point here. :hungry:

We have very similar taste [MENTION=133649]Angelo[/MENTION]!!! I like the C4 sliders too.(stamped TRD of course and maybe sprayed with Line-X or just some matte blk) I also am a fan of the Southern Style Slimline Hybrid bumper w/flush mounted LED and hoop. You a fan?

Is that 35% tint?
Any desire/plans for a full rack/ladder?

The dipping process wasn't difficult necessarily, but I'd never dipped before and it was certainly a learning experience (wife: "you're doing WHAT to your brand new limited edition $40k truck?"). Fortunately everything with dip is reversible. Use lots of blue scotch painter's tape and newspaper to mark off your edges and about 5-6 THIN coats as you go with about 20-30 min drying time between coats. I'd recommend scoring the edges gently with a toothpick before tape / newspaper removal so everything comes off clean. You can remove overspray easily with Goo-Gone which does not damage your paint or finish.

I DID do the rear 4Runner logo but didn't picture it. I decided to leave the front Toyota lettering as is / stock. I'm actually considering debadging the entire rig at the moment (except for the rear 4Runnner emblem) so when I get sliders they'll definitely be just the plain steps with no lettering. I don't even like wearing t-shirts with any writing on them haha. Also the rig looks different / eyecatching enough that debadging it could increase the "wtf was that?!?" factor when people see it on the road, which already happens quite a bit.

The tint is 20% on the sides, which matches most stock OEM "privacy glass".

I don't have any use for a front bumper, LED bar, rack or ladder right now, so I'm definitely not going to be spending that extra money just for the look- I do LIKE how they look but they're just not for me right now. Maybe one day if I need them.

I'd leave the TRDP badge. I feel those who don't own a TRDP remove them so after mods others might think it's a TRDP...that's just opinion. Not that it means much lol.
