TRD Update

Sweet. Then we can listen to people complain how much Apple CarPlay stinks. That being the same people who complain that there is no current 'Yota with ACP haha...

I installed an aftermarket wireless Apple CarPlay head-unit and while it has its issues from time to time, it is vastly superior to Entune.

The beauty of offering ACP in a vehicle is that it's not an "either or" type of situation--you can have both and opt to use one or the other (or both if you want).

Guys, guys, guys .... All of you having speculation orgasms, are missing a major point; whatever this is, it is a TRD Pro upgrade -- please reread the link in the OP.

Also, please stop pestering the two guys who know something. One is a vendor, and the other an employee, and neither is going to tell you any more.

Besides, it is surely NBD. Relax.

Then they should have kept their fat yaps shut.

Philsey from teh top rope with the right hand buzzkill manoeuvre he personally pioneered back in 1983 when rumors of a new Corvette began to circulate around East Philadelphia neighborhood bars.

While i was grabbing some all weather mats from my local dealer. He said part of the announcement maybe the upcomming TRD Pro appearance PKG which will be available nationwide on all 4Runners as an option soon. Right now i believe certain regions have packages that are close such as the XP Predator etc etc..... He said this will be happening sometime soon but not sure if this is part of the announcement or not.

Really Curious what the changes are ...... The wait is a killer :)

Hopefully this thread doesn’t go sour from all the Turd Pro haters :rapture:

Haters is a strong word. I'd say more disappointed that for the MSRP or above pricing it doesn't have a sunroof, JBL and the option of KDSS. It's basically a TRAIL with fancy badging, suspension and wheels which many guys swap out. That and the limited color(s) of course which I understand if they're wanting a Quicksand, Cement, Calvary, etc..

that's like your wife telling you "we need to talk" and when you get home she says "it's nothing."

Edit: also AWD all the things

Speaking of which. I think Your SO stole your truck and left the doggies in the back. They’re watching the kiddies play on the playground wishing they come out and play.

Just a few days away from the announcement. Anyone have any better info?

Seems consensus/rumor is TRD Tundra is returning, KO2 tires across the range, different shocks with a higher lift, LED Fog Lights, possible Sunroof and Upgraded Sound with Apple Car Play......

Of course the anticipation is killing me so can someone in the know spill the beans already :)

Ready for this big or not-so-big news as I'm kind of on the fence between a TRD Pro or a 200 series thats a couple years old.

Judging by Toyota’s Instagram, factory snorkels...?

if that's so, i'm impressed. and it certainly seems to be the case — that pic shows a TRD logo molded into the snorkel inlet.

a factory snorkel option is very cool, and helps to blunt the "appearance package" epithets lobbed sorta deservedly at the Pro otherwise.

i do wonder what'll happen if Toyota sells a bunch of snorkeled Pros to buyers who've not even figured out part-time 4WD and can now get into even more trouble... suffering the delusion that they're rolling in an amphibious vehicle.

also, SoonerDPT definitely get that 200 if it's not out of the question. i've been eyeing them more and more lately.

It's still an appearance package.

So basically, factory snorkel (only available when ordering on a new build), roof rack (similar to a baja rack), and the 4Runner becomes in-line with the Taco TRD Pro in that billsteins are gone and it uses Fox 2.0 shocks (so basically the same level of shock as the Billsteins, just without the problems they've had with those). A few other tiny things here and there.

The internet can simmer down.

Thanks! What are some of the problem with the bilsteins? Other than incorrect installs at the port?Just curious. Also it seems people complain about the Fox Shocks also on the TacomaWorld forum.

Are these 2019 (i presume) or updated 2018's? When you say inline with the Tacoma does the 4Runner also have a snorkel available? What other changes?

Interesting.

My TRD Pro was totaled and was waiting to see what's new with 2019.

Contemplating on what to get now with all the stuff I have laying around. I even have have a brand new suspension laying around.
