TRD Wheel cleaning suggestions?

This suggestion downright dangerous, and is a great example of the internets biggest failing.

If you are reading this in the future, and you go "Oh hey, I have TRD wheels and mothers mag and aluminum polish let's give it a shot" - don't. Your wheels will be permanently ruined.

Why is that? It cleans my TRD pro wheels up just fine. No issues at all. I had tried everything and this seemed to be the best.

I still thank 1engineer for introducing me to Optimum No Rinse. I use it on all exterior surfaces of the vehicle, wheels included. My LE wheels still shine after 3 years and 64,000km. I wash the 4Runner first and then do the door sills, wheels, mud guards, wheel well trim last. The only additional product I buy is a tire shine that gets applied with a foam pad.

I really don't think you need all of these other products unless there is something particular about the material your wheels are made of.

Ok, I cleaned my wheels with Sonax Wheel Cleaner... its pretty interesting stuff but it wasnt mind-blowing.

Good news... my wheels were really dirty and needs some scrubbing and the previous cleaner did absolutely nothing to clean them.

Sonax loosened up the dirt but i still had to scrub and the dirt didnt melt off. I will be exploring other wheel cleaning options in the future.
4runick For me, I am not sure aluminum wheel polish is what i would choose for matte finish wheels... if it works for you I would love to see a video of that, might make me a believer.

Here is a before and after photo:

I ordered some of this ...
Use the 2 bucket method for washing. You can even use this stuff as a quick detailer and clay lubricant (mixing instructions right on the bottle). It's also environmentally friendly so don't worry about dumping the water. Lots of instructions and videos on YouTube etc.

Hope it helps with cleaning your wheels too but, regardless, you will like this product. The Optimum Spray Wax works great too.

Good call on the Optimum Spray Wax. Gave it a go with that and worked great!
