TRDP Soft Tire Wobble

Okay,

So I noticed about a week ago when I first start driving my TRDP there is some noticeable vibrations in the steering which seems to be from tire wobble. After I drive about 7-10 minutes it seems to go away. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've heard of soft tires causing this problem, but I really wasn't expecting it with the Nittos.

My "E" rated M/Ts are ALWAYS bumpy for the first few miles. Takes a bit for the flat spots to warm up and run smooth.

If anyone on here is old enough to have run 10 bias ply NYLON cord tires - this new stuff (radial, polyester, steel belts) is mild by comparison.

I have the same wheel tire set up as the TRD Pro and notice that it takes a lot more effort to keep the truck straight, seems like any little bump on the highway changes the direction of the truck. I just got my truck aligned at the same time as installing the wheels and tires so it's not that.

Perhaps they should check the Caster adjustment. After my lift I was all squirrely until my caster was set to over 3.

I AM DEFINATELY experiencing this same thing. Last time I death with this was when I had bad struts as a kid in an old Nissan Sentra. It's weird. if I had a bump going over 40 mph it's like the truck gets squirely.

+1 Here.. Just bought my 2011 SR5 4x4 and the dealer had put brand new goodyear offroads on it. The steering wheel kind of wobbles and it does feel like bumps make it try to pull one direction or the other..

My previous truck was a 4x4 tahoe and it was solid as a rock.

I love the runner, but would like to iron this issue out..

Since it's only been a week since my alignment, I'll take it back and see if they can adjust it. Will keep all posted with my alignment specs.

Hopefully I can give some guidance with the TRDPro. I've had my TRDP for 4mths now and find it much more livable than the Jeep Wrangler I had prior and better safety for my child. However, I had the front two Nittos replaced within the first month as they were said to be out of round due to steering wheel vibration between 50-65mph. I have much less vibration now, but there are times vibration occurs over a patch of road. I still have a bumpy, push/pulll feel b/n 40-50. This with a metal on metal circular noise when shifted in D and R, but not N or P have me thinking it's the TC causing the bumpy feeling on smooth roads. Plan to take in at my 6mth for oil change and have them diagnose the noise when the skid plates are off.

I'd suggest having your dealership see if the Nitto tires are out of round. It has made the steering wheel vibration go away 90% of the time. Good luck.

I had my rims swapped to new TRD blacks (PTR20-35110-BK).. Seems the mount and balance has fixed my issue. Now I am completely happy with my runner.

Nice! I experienced it again yesterday several times. It only wobbled the steering wheel for about 5 minutes after driving. It was super hot here too. I'll try to post after taking it to the dealership.
