Got myself the "O" throttle body gasket. The stock gasket looks like a backwards "D" restricting a small amount of airflow. This TRD gasket comes with the supercharger kit, but you can easily purchase just the gasket. +1HP!

Haven't had much time to work on getting the truck in selling condition. Came home from work and smelled oil on the drive home. Got home, popped the hood and this:

I'm pretty sure it's the valve covers. Going to have to take it into the shop and get that fixed. Also, just hit 130k, so I'll be doing the timing belt and water pump in the next week.

Ordered a stock replacement cat back from rock auto. Once I get it, I'll throw it on in auto class.

Can't wait to get a 4x4, but I will definitely miss my first 4Runner

I'd spray that with some brakleen, and then tighten the bolts to spec, they loosen up over time.

There is a possibility of cracking the valve covers, but alot of people have just tightened the bolts and fixed their leak. Some though have cracked the covers....worth reading into, but could just need tightened.

dont over tighten them and start from the center, and work out, only give them like a quarter or half turn at a time before moving to the next one, again going from the center out, then repeating till snug. be careful not to over tighten -id probably just use a 1/4 ratchet with a short handle.

haha do old! i used a inch-pounds torque wrench, worked perfect.

wheels and a sticker

Hey TRDteen,

Awesome build, just read all 13 pages of your thread. Ive wanted to put on the bronze trd beadlock wheels on my 2000 sr5, how did you find a set that fit/ could you give me some info on where to locate such cool and iconic toyo wheels? I also wanted to know how you got yours hands on the sweet t4r sticker on your back window.

Once again, sweet rig, and keep lookin for a 4x4!

Did the trd bead locks fit without issue over the tundra brake upgrade?

The first real mod to go on the car was the Tundra 231mm brake caliper swap. The breaks were giving us EXTREME pulsation every time you braked. We had the rotors re-surfaced, new pads, and new rotors, but the pulsation would always come back. After reading a thread about the Tundra caliper swap, I told my dad and we ordered the parts! We switched them out and the problem is forever gone!

Had to cut the splash shield in order to get the bigger caliper to fit.

Unfortunately Ididn't get any picture of the rotor and caliper because I had to leave for school and my dad finished.
