Treatment of Surface Body Rust Help

Hey everyone, my recently purchased 2004 SR5's body is in really good condition for the most part. The only problem is that there is a sizable dent and a few small chips in the paint on the driver's side front pillar (apparently from a falling basketball goal). This problem was left untreated by the previous owner, so a small amount of rust has gathered on the exposed metal. After taking it to a few local shops and getting the same estimate on the cost to pull the dent/fix the paint, I decided that I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a dent right now. Do guys have any suggestions on products that can treat and cover the exposed metal until I am willing to have it professionally fixed? Or should I just go ahead and get all the work done right away?

I'd just sand, bondo, sand, primer, paint - natural white does not have a clearcoat.

I don't know anything about personal waxing man, not sure why you mentioned me. I believe it's garden, let it grow..

...Oh crap you meant the clear coat... I use clear coat on the satoshis but I think it may change the color slightly. My grille is clear coated with their clear if you want to look at recent build pics to see how it matches.

edit- The lower bumper centers are sprayed with duplicolor 'color-match' and the duplicolor clear coat. You can see that it's kinda brown/yellow compared to the rest of the bumper.

Show us your dent! Regular Bondo should not be put on any thicker than a dime or it will eventually crack. You could consider Bondo glass for the deepest part and then a thin sandable layer of Bondo on top. It would be best to bump out the dent as much as possible to keep the filler thin. I got matched paint from PaintScratch.com for about $25 a can a couple of years ago. Toyota white doesn't need a clear coat.
