Tried out the Plasti Dip

Had some time Saturday morning and did the front bumper/grill. Cutted the lower Variance the night before. My plasti Dip job was spotty but it looks OK from afar. I think it simplifies the front end too much now. Was thinking about doing the Satoshi mod plus some lights. You guys have any recomdations and maybe some pictures? Have no idea what direction to go on lights but want them headlight level.

I plan on plasti dipping the back bumper, maybe the rocker panels and getting TRD stickers. Oh, and maybe plasti Dipping/Gloss spray the Rims but I like the look of them at this time.

Looks great my fellow Phoenician! I too did the same and agree the front end looks boring... I'm in the process of ordering all the stuff for my Satoshi grille.

I just bed lined the rear bumper of mine, I really wanna do the front now and thought of using the plasti-dip. I'm thinking of plasti-dipping my cladding and flares but it makes me wonder how it will hold up to the AZ pin striping around here.. I still have to see how the bed lining works out and I'd like to know how your plasti dip holds up over time..

I've never messed with Plasti-dip. I was checking out their website and saw they have a primer that is supposed to give better adhesion. Just wondering if any of you guys had used it.

I purchased another grille just in case I f mine up... some perforated mesh and a FJ60 emblem... what do you plan on doing for yours?

No plans yet but I guess the same way you are doing yours. Seems like the norm. If you find a good deal on a FJ60 emblem let me know

Toyotapartszone has it for $32... And I agree lights behind the grille would look sweet

If you plan on painting your wheels, get them professionally done. I love the 5 stars and hated having to touch them up over time. I finally got tired of it and bought my current wheels. I miss my 5 stars though. You could probably sell the ones on your truck for good money and go buy some brand new black wheels and only put $250-300 into them.

I plasti dipped my emblems but some day I want to pull them off and paint them right. Its just too hot still! I haven't decided on a satoshi grill for mine. I'm not sure how the fat lip front bumper will look with it.
