Trim weight discrepancies

Looking on Toyota's website, it shows the weight(in lbs) of the 4runner as:

SR5 4400
Trail 4750
Limited 4525

I am wondering what makes the Trail so much heavier than the SR5? I am interested in a new 4runner and was eyeing the SR5 and Trail models. The extra 350lbs on the Trail bothers me. As I understand it, the main differences are:

KDSS option
Rear Locker
Crawl/Terrain select
Different bumper
Hood Scoop

Do the Locker and KDSS really add up to 350lbs?

Also, Toyota lists the ground clearance as 9.0" on the SR5/Limited, and 9.6" on the Trail. I wasn't aware that KDSS gave the Trail any additional lift, only greater articulation. What accounts for the Trail's greater ground clearance?

Is the SR5 4WD for the weight? I know the rear locker is maybe 5-10 lbs heavier and the kdss i can see it being 100 max but could be wrong.

the 4x2 are 9"

the 4x4 are 9.6"

the TE only come in 4x4, but the SR5 and LE come in 4x2 so there would be 2 sets of clearance numbers.

the 4x4 LE is heavier by 55 lbs than the TE.

you have to change the config on the vehicles on the toyota website when you do compares cause the website defaults to 4x2 on the SR5 and LE.

The curb weight of a 4x2 SR5 is 4,400 lbs.

The curb weight of a 4x4 SR5 is 4,675 lbs.

The curb weight of a Trail is 4,750 lbs.

The Trail weights 75 lbs more, looks reasonable to me.

I forgot these vehicles even come in 4x2 lol. That was the missing puzzle piece!
