I finally have a tissue holder
Since I started this thread some time back, I thought I'd bring it full circle...a month or so ago, I had posted a question about an electrical part on Tundrasolutions (for an issue with my son's Tacoma). I got a nice reply from a guy about getting the part, and he mentioned he worked parts for a Toyota Dealer (name/location will remain confidential as I think he's part of the Federal Witness Protection Program...)
So he helps me get the answer and part to my electrical dilemma, so I mention several other things to him via email, including my lack of a Tissue Holder. He said (as someone here suggested) that it was warranty, and my dealer should replace it; but if they wouldn't, he could get it done. Not expecting good things from my dealer, I went anyway and of course, they said no, it's not a warranty issue....typical of "Champion Toyota in Austin, Texas"....
So I email my buddy back and he says to mail him the console lid and he'll get it done under warranty....so off the lid goes, and in about a week, back comes a new one, with tissue holder AND a free Toyota OEM filter!...I also ordered a few parts for my son's Tacoma...
Ends up that when he ordered the new console lid from Toyota, it ALSO came without a tissue holder. They investigated with Toyota and were told that you had to order the ENTIRE CONSOLE assembly ($600+) to get the tissue holder...ends up that they "re-allocated" a tissue holder from a vehicle on the lot for my new console lid.
Kleenex Juniors are in place...
and that's the rest of the story...

Glad to hear things worked out. Not so much about the content. This was a minor part that your stellar "Champion Toyota" dealer didn't want to pursue even though it is warranty and they would make money on it. More for the fact that there are nice guys out there willing to help. Good for you.

You're quite right, Kmvreter...the worst part about the experience was the complete lack of concern/care/customer service at Champion Toyota. I've had several Toyotas, and while I may buy a vehicle from them again, I will never take my vehicles to them for parts or service.
My new friend with the Toyota shop who helped me with this silly tissue holder went well beyond the call of duty, and because of that, I will continue to use him for parts...

So, the first post on this page states my issue perfectly. This isn't a huge ordeal but I'd really appreciate having that damn holder, and am trying to find one. Most of this thread seems to say its warranty, however I doubt it's warranty 10 years later.... also most other threads just talk about finding the tissue box size to fit in there, not the part itself.
So anyone know where I can get one of these bad boys by itself and not ordering a whole new assembly?

Hey, I'm just grateful to have witnessed a resurrection.
:It's surprising that your console is missing this. I thought it was molded into the inside lid but I guess not. In any case, as many have stated, finding the right size box to even stay in there is a pain and that situation has only worsened since this thread started back in the day. Most fall out every time you open the lid. I ordered some from Amazon based on a post in another thread but had to wedge them in too.
In any case, good luck.

I appreciate it! I'm not deep into any modding yet but would love to see this forum in the 4th gen section keep as active as it's been, so I add in and bump threads when I can to contribute.
I'm kinda hoping somebody will see this, who never uses their holder, and will be willing to make a quick buck by selling me theirs :wave:

Anyone have a stockpile of old Kleenex Juniors?
Hey guys, I have been scouring the internet for days trying to find the right Kleenex Juniors box for my center console. I purchased a 10 pack of the current model of Kleenex juniors on amazon a week or so ago only to find that the box was too small and did not fit snugly into my armrest. Upon further investigation I discovered that at some point Kleenex modified the Kleenex junior box to be a little smaller and only hold 40 tissues instead of the old 65 count. I know a lot of you bought a bulk supply of the old Kleenex juniors back when they were the right size and I thought I’d reach out to see if any of you are sitting on a huge stockpile at home that you might be willing to sell a few from. Here’s hoping!

First, I have allergies from working in construction, year-round, never stops.
Second - Kleenex has made their tissues worthless. No strength, very thin and about the same quality as gas station toilet paper.
Puffs are far better. That tissue holder is a joke at best to me, but I'm picky to an extent. I just use a square box of Puffs and drop that into the bottom of that deep, semi-worthless armrest box. The tissues are a heavier 2-ply type, highly absorbent and much, much stronger than Kleenex. I plan to insert a couple of crossbars in that armrest pad to make it at least somewhat useful to hold something when the weather gets better.
Just a thought. When I saw that upper lid design and found out what it was for I had to laugh a bit. Amazing how little storage is in the 4Runners despite their size compared to the interior in my Dodge pickup. Once you get into the dash and surrounding trim in these trucks you'll discover a lot of wasted space - Toyota could have done a lot better.
