Truck creaking a lot

Hi [MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION] / [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION],
I'm still stock wrt the front-end and mine's creaking a lot more now that it's getting a lil' older (mileage is still low @ 9400 mi). I hear it when driving very slow e.g., 3 to 5 mph with the driverside window down. I can hear it when it squats 'during braking' and also when turning the steering wheel as the 'body flexes'. I'm guessing it's rubber bushings e.g., upper / lower CA's, stabilizer bars, not sure what else applies...

I thought about it but it makes no noise when I jack it up, or drop it down. So working the suspension components appears not to be it (or not all of it).
I can definitely pop the caps and pack some grease in the uniball. They get sprayed from the bottom once a month with T9, so they should be pretty well lubrucated.

I can hear it clearly in the cab, and it sounds like it is the cab flexing. Which is why I was thinking body mounts. Body flex is a good word to describe it.

It's probably not the uniballs, but the heim joints. There is one at the top and bottom of the shocks, and since you got the billet UCAs, there are 2 on each UCA where they attach to the frame. On the rear, you have them on your panhard bar, upper and lower control arms, and the bottom of the shocks.
Spray them with lithium grease to quiet them down for a bit, but they require frequent replacement. Done mine twice.

Just an update: I emailed ICON through their contact form and still waiting to hear back. I did clean and lubricated everything over the weekend.
I do not hear the creaking more with the windows down and the wife describes it as " kinda sounds like the leather seats". there was a post on the tacoma forum that indicated the sliders rubbing the body as the frame flexes, but I see no signs of that on my rocker panels (they are pretty close to the sliders on the far front).
I'm still thinking it's the body and not the suspension at this time.

don't worry the my 2014 with almost 12k in miles and the last 1-2 months the creaks are worse at mostly low speed <10 mph and can still hear them driving over rough city streets.
and I've noticed a clink (clunk???) when turning the wheel exiting the parking pad at home or backing out of a parking spot.
need to get it checked out before the 12k mile expires at the dealer, whenever I can have time off to get it done.

Mine creaks quite a bit also. 2014 TEP with maybe 2K miles on it. I hear it most when I exit my driveway backing and turning going off the lip of the pavement. I was thinking it could just be a characteristic of the KDSS system, but could be totally wrong. Not too awful worried about it.

I would start with removing the front skid plate. If I recall correctly, you're rocking the shrockworks system. I'm positive my creaks are coming from the skids. When I removed the engine skid so that my local dealer could do an oil service, the noise went away. Drove around for 2 weeks without the skid and no noise at all. Put them back on, and noise the very same day. I think the noise is coming from the engine skid and lower control arm mounts. I'm not sure if it was [MENTION=49966]mikey's2010SR5[/MENTION] that had the same problem.
Hi Bobby, Did yours sounds like the noise came from the B-pillar area? Hadn't thought about the skids flexing on the frame.

I hear the exact same thing when I am backing up as well. I have a 2014 Limited. Please keep us posted on what the noise is when you get it checked out.

So I looked underneath my truck and saw that the alignement CAM stock gussets had been bent pretty badly. So I am thinking that the lower arms are sliding around ever so slightly to give the metal creaking sound.
I am going to start by having the Total Chaos CAM gussets welded on. Then go from there.
I also think the Shrockworks skids are sliding around a bit. Plus I still think my lower control arm bushings are starting to go bad. I will have those checked out when they are off the truck.
Another thing I noticed was the Radflo upper mounts had become very loose with wear. I do plan on a rebuild/addition soon so hopefully that will take care of it.
These sounds and maintenance was expected with the way the truck is built and how it is used. If you play hard you will have to do work. LOL.
Step by step and hopefully all will be taken care of.

I was able to get rid of a few creaks and knocks from my BudBuilt skids by putting large rubber washers between where each of the skid plates connect to each other.

You might wanna check out where the headlights meet up with the front side fenders. This is where I found out where my squeaks/creaks were coming from by jumping up/down on my sliders to hear it. You can try pushing on the side of the headlight to see if it's making contact with the fenders. I can recreate it every single time I push on it. Passenger side much louder than driver side. At lower speeds over small bumps it's like a little mouse squeaking. I haven't figured out what to do in order to get rid of it. I do have the shockworks front bumper as well and I've had this squeak ever since I've lifted my truck. So I don't think the bumper had anything to do with it.
