Trying Something New...

So I've had some rear coil lift spacers (2.55") laying around and I had an idea....

I have a Daystar 1.5" (which has sagged to about 1.25" by now) rubber top coil spacers on the truck right now but I want to add these 2.5" lift spacers.... ON THE BOTTOM OF THE COIL and leave the top spacers in.

I've done the measurements, and it appears that the steel spacers will bolt into the holes where the lower bump stops used to be. The overall width of the spacers themselves completely covers the stock coil mounting points and the coils themselves should fit in the rimmed groove on the top of the spacer....


Has anyone ever done this before? I've measured a few times and it seems like everything will fit... but I'm not about to lift up my truck to find they wont support them.

Worst case, I switch out the old rubber Daystar ones with these new metal ones, but has anyone run BOTH at the SAME TIME one spacer on top of the coil, and one spacer (bolted to the stock coil mounting point) on the bottom of the coil giving a combined ~ 4.10-4.24" rear lift?

I mean, I've done plenty on my truck that people haven't done before, but I sure as heck don't know as much about the rear suspension as I do the rest of the truck....

They actually make stiffer and taller springs perfect for your application. You don't need spacers stacked on spacers... Talk with Coil Spring Specialties they can make whatever you want.

Longer spring or spring spacer combo doesn't gain you any more travel, eventually you'll run out of down travel and won't be able to use any up travel and it'll ride like crap.

Spacer on top of the strut mount doesn't gain you any more travel either. Eventually you'll end up moving your range of travel too far down and will bind CV's over minimal bumps.

Somehow some people have lifted "4.5-5" but I doubt that's true, maybe over saggy stock springs. Playing with bilstein 5100's, 885 OME coils on lowest setting, and top out spacers I was getting CV bind lifted anywhere over 3".

So I did it today. Just changed the baffle rates on my Ranchos. Rides fine. I'm honestly out of the flex game with why work schedule, so I'll be upping to 37's and being a basic ***** from now on. No bouncing, not as much nose lift when flooring it, not as much body roll when turning, no noises, no cares.
