Tundra Brake Kit Upgrade from Ebay? 292$ Shipped!

My local auto parts store would take any core and they say it doesnt matter as long as its a core. Its not like they rebuild Tundra calipers only!

Some say $325 + free shipping and some $292 + $33 shipping. Or the shipping may differ depending where you live I guess.

I figured. I like the brand though! Good marketing tactic. I went to another forum where people were asking the quality of the Callahan brakes and all the replies were quotes from Tommy Boy...

Callahan brakes has the same set up for same price on eBay and the calibers even come prepainted

Taking the word of a minimal wage earning cashier at a parts house is not the industry standard for core returns.
I made a judgement and you stole from the seller. (I am sure that you did ask the seller if any old caliper will do for a core exchange)
They way Ebay works is that once a complaint is filed, the seller is forced to refund or Ebay does it for them. It is a oneway street for those guys.
Eventually, they will run out of the big tundra caliper because everyone has swapped out the smaller caliper. This has happened with the Mustang big brake caliper...
So the brakes arrived and after reading here the install went off without a hitch. My rims cleared the calipers, barely, so I only hD to remove one patch of wheel weights. Back to discount to get the tires rebalanced.

Your entitled to your opinion. I guess you and everyone here should here should stop the brake upgrade to save the tundra calipers from running out.

It is not an opinion - it is a fact. You stole from the seller and you bragged about it.
Wow. If my moral character offends you. Your welcome to pm me. Op asked for a review about the seller and product. I provided my experience. I know the kind of people you are by your posts. Go protest this at a parts store and point your finger to people that give information on core returns. I'm a paying customer and I was upfront from the seller i bought from. Give yourself a merry pat on the back for being better than someone else. For all you know I maybe just a minimal wage earner from at a parts store.

I did some searching for Callahan and the reviews are hit or miss.
The comments I read that are negative are 1) Cheap Chinese junk and 2) Fracturing of the disc on the drill holes.
I have not had good luck with most of my automotive purchases on Ebay so for about the same money I would look at Brembos and remanufactured Toyota calipers if it were me.

Yes, your moral character offends me because you have no morals . I am pointing my finger at you. And if you are a worker a parts store, taking in cores that are not 1: the same model core as the one bought and 2: rebuildable; you should be reprimanded for not doing you job.
And I do not believe your were upfront with the seller you bought from but this is my opinion as I have no facts to back this up. Common sense would dictate the seller sold Tundra Calipers so he would want Tundra Calipers cores back. So if you weren't upfront with the seller - this makes you a liar and thief.

So I took the leap of faith and so far so good...of course mine are on my kitchen counter. Here are some pics of what I received.
The castings look clean although despite the weight, the rotors do have an inexplicably cheap feel to them...time will tell. The Calipers look good, seals appear to sit nice and they look and feel like OEM to me....After I install them I will post another follow up with how they perform.

Hey guys and [MENTION=59542]Singtoe[/MENTION], with all due respect, I emailed this seller a little over a month ago and they said they would take any caliper cores in return for the core fee. I mentioned this in another thread about this issue a few weeks ago. I was VERY specific to the seller about the fact that they were different. So as I see both points of view I just wanted to help diffuse the animosity. So at least FOR THIS EBAY SELLER they are ok with any core return, or were as of a month ago anyhow.
Some people make judgment on others regardless. It makes them feel almighty about themselves. I doubt he believes you. Sorry for even carrying this issue on this thread taking it off topic.

On topic, anyone else that ordered from Callahan had any issues getting their core deposit back? I'm deployed til the fall, so i wonder if i would have any problems ordering now and still getting my core deposit later on.
