Tundra Brake Upgrade: What Brands Did You Use?

I've got a bit of rotor warp happening, so I figure it is time to do the Tundra Brake Upgrade. Been doing some research, and was curious what brands everyone used for rotors, calipers, and pads.

I usually go OE on my parts, so I'll probably go that route for the Tundra Rotors ($63 each) and Tundra Pads ($57 each), but the calipers are crazy expensive ($363 each). I know some people have gone junkyard for the calipers and rebuilt, but I was curious if anyone has had good results from an aftermarket brand of calipers. I'll be going for the 199mm calipers for ease of install/fit on my 16" wheels.

30k+ miles on mine with no issues at all. Brembo rotors, akebono pads, NAPA calipers.

Thank you. That thread is awesome. I initially didn't see much about what brands everyone used, but I'll keep reading (52 pages is a lot!).

Napa Eclipse OEM rebuilt calipers 199mm
Toyota pads shims springs and rotors
Reused my hardware.

Returned my 4Runner calipers as core on the Tundra calipers.

25k warp free hard biting miles.

OEM rotors and pads (defently priced).
Autozone brake calipers. Good price. Remanufactured OEMs anyway and a lifetime warranty.

Just be sure to paint them first. I didn't and mine rusted in south Louisiana.

Seems like reman calipers just as Nappa / autozone / eBay etc.

I work for Advance Auto parts so I took advantage of that, got the 231 calipers, rotors, and platinum/wagner pads. $208 after tax for all of it. But I cheated a little bit since I can get a discount.

Autozone remanufactured calipers (13WE- 199 mm), duralast gold pads, and oe rotors from camelback toyota. No complaints so far with about 10k miles on them.

I've had the Napa eclipse 231's, Brembo rotor, Bosch quietcast (non-chamfered) pads on my '96/'98 for quite some time. At least 20k miles. Calipers still look great. Brakes still awesome.
Went with cheap calipers from amazon for the wife's truck ('01) and same brembo/bosch pads. Still work great but calipers are quite rusty. Not nearly as good paint. I think they were raybestos calipers.

I've run about 7k since my upgrade.

Napa Eclipse calipers/black G2 paint
Seems like a good bet. I wish I ordered the toyota hardware kit though. The springs needed rebent to fit and don't seem all that secure. The bleed valves were different sizes on the calipers. One was 8x1.00 and the other had either a repair or some kind of adapter that used a fractional size. Only an issue for me since I wanted to use speed bleeders.

DBA T3 rotors
Pricy, but they still look new. I would probably go that route again.

Hawk LTS pads
Adequate performance. Definitely not what I'd consider low dust. Wheels need cleaned every 4-600 miles

Wheelers SS braided lines
Pretty. Seems they could be a tad longer. They are a little taught with SPC arms and ICON coilovers.

I used new oem hardlines from the calipers to the flex lines. Also ended up needing to replace one of the hardlines on the other end of the flex line.

Motive pressure bleeder
Game changer. Makes bleeding a non event. Except for the universal adapter. I won't use it again.

Overall just as happy with the whole setup as everyone else.

I went with OEM calipers and hardware, Hawk HPS pads and Stoptech cryo treated slotted rotors. Also Toytech braided hoses.

Ive got 10k miles on them so far and love the combo. Stops extremely well with very little dust, no noise and have yet to get them to fade.
