Tundra coil and 5100/5125 Bilstein info needed

Before It's asked yes I have done many searches and my mind is flooded with lots of info. Too much honestly lol
This is for my 2001 4 runner.

I'll keep it simple
I found a 03 tundra TRD not sure if double cab or single with 145k miles on it
The wheels are off so I was able to get a good look at the coils. I found numerous posts where the code is driver side y/y and passenger side y/b
The setup on this truck however is
driver side y/y
passenger side b/y not y/b like all the other posts say to use.
So my question is will this work?

2nd part of question is I'm trying to decide what to use in Rear for shocks. the Bilstein 5100 or 5125. This is a daily driver with mostly off roading not much actual wheeling. I'm leaning towards the 5125, Toytec sells the 5125 rear shocks for the 3rd gen but not sure of the actual bilstein model # they carry. I will be using used LC 7 wraps if I can find them or new OME 890's

yes those are the correct pain codes, someone just put on color on before the other, no big deal.

i would just get the 5125 that toytec sells, it comes with the adapter needed to mount it.

look for 7 wraps, i think you will like those better.

7 wraps are nice but hard ish to find. OME 890's are a nice alternative. And for rear shocks, the Toyota OEM black Tokico's for a Landcruiser would work well with either spring. And they're not that pricey.

yeah but mounting that shock can be a PITA, the upper rear shock mounts are no fun. with the adapter you can do the instal with a lot more ease, and never have to worry about it again...

They're easy as pie. Break or but the old ones out, clean out all the sh*t that accumulated in the upper shock mount and you're good to go. I did mine in about 15 minutes per side here in the "rust belt." But you're right, the ones with the adapter are easier.

nope, mine came that way... i think it doesnt matter how the paint color is ordered/arranged on the coil, what matters is the colors them selves...

Think 145k miles is a lot on them? I can pick them up with the shocks for 100$
I wont use the shocks tho, I will get some billy 5100's
Also thanks for the .ih8mud tip I think I found someone with 7wraps. I sent him a pm so hopefully they are 7 wraps and they are still available.

$100 isnt bad but its not a killer deal, new they are around $240 for the set(just coils), but the toytec 3" lift coil (made by eibach) is only another $60 more, and brand new... if your only looking for a small lift like say 2" then yeah the TRD coils will work fine. but they dont hold weight that well, so if you ever plan on adding a bumper or winch ect your front sill suffer, so will the ride. but for a stock truck it will work nicely -it will be a big improvement over stock thats for sure.

i think i got $200 for my TRD coils when i sold them, but they only had like maybe 8k miles on them

I've gone back and forth over using the tundra coils or the eibach's that toytec offers. Yes I would like a front bumper in the future but I still think the tundra coils should be ok as this is mostly used as a daily driver and on wknds I do a little off roading. On some of my photography trips that require at times to go over some passes in southwest Colorado. That can be very rocky and rutted roads but nothing too extreme. Been getting by with stock but I know I'll be a lot better off with an upgraded suspension and small 2.5in lift.

I would have thought so as well, guess ill cross that bridge when I do get a front bumper.

nope, it was fine with no winch or bumper -though i had skids and sliders, but once i installed my winch and bumper(ARB bumper didnt way that much more, maybe only like another 30 or 40lb max, but it sagged with the combined weight of it all, i was only at like 1.5-1.75" of lift up front with close to 4 in the back

Downsouth motorsports has the package for $360 with free shipping but that's for 2 height adjustable 5100 and 2 rear 5100. I called and they said for the same price they would swap the rears for 5125's they just need the part number.

This is the part number I found when I was searching last night it was in the 3rd gen section here. I used the alternate search and found it. Too hard to go that on my phone though. So you might want to confirm it.

Thanks for hunting those down. The link to the bilstein site says 5100 not 5125 and I thought for the rear you needed 2 different sizes because of the gas tank on one side?

thats cause that shock is in the 5100 series family, its a 5125... a 5100 series shock/strut.

is not the shock you want its for another, do not order this shock. the link that cow .doc 308 sent you is for a different shock. i do not know what this shock would work on or with.

I thought tho that there was 2 different sizes. I found a webpage that had this info listed. But this was on a Tacoma site I forget which one.
