Tundra Front Brake Mod question

Finished my swap to the 199 using Napa parts. Cost me right about $300 (I also put new brake lines). I also did the 199 because I have the tri spoke and didn't want to deal with swapping wheels.

It is still a great improvement over the stock. I contribute a lot of the gain to the rotor size, which is the same for both the 199 and 231. Not to say the 231 isn't a better option, but the major jump in improvement comes from the larger rotors.

Also, for anyone that plans on doing this. Bleed your lines while doing the job. That is always a major factor in improving the braking system.

Thanks everyone for you advice and help.

Last Saturday I decided to change the spiders (u-joints) on my driveshaft and it kicked my @$$. The old ones were rusted and the bearings were shot. Anyway the job took 8 hours and she still shakes at 60+mph. I found a driveshaft shop that will try to balance it or let me know if I need a new one.

Then I started the brake upgrade Saturday night. First side took forever and the second caliper took 45 min. When I took it for a test drive the brake pedal was too soft. Fortunately, it's our extra vehicle so I ordered the Motive Power Bleeder and ran a quart of fluid through the brakes and there were still some tiny bubbles. The brakes are so smooth and the pedal is back to normal.

I can't stress the importance of bleeding the brakes after the caliper job!!!!
