I am looking a doing the 231mm tundra brake upgrade as well as using tundra bilstein coilovers to lift the front. This go me thinking whether it is possible to just buy a whole front end from a Tundra including axle,brakes, suspension and just put this in my 4runner that way it would be like having a factory Toyota long travel right? I need help has anyone ever tried this?

LC 9 wraps AND OME 861's? Thats a lot of coils for the rear isn't it?

I was looking at LC coils, but I think its to much lift for what I want. its depending upon how many wraps, but there about 4" of lift.
but they do ride nice.
and to get the front to match I was afraid of being to high of lift and affecting the CV joints. but that is just me.
I am still undecided, but thinking OME for ease, but really not sure.

What you're describing is 2 sets of rear springs.......that won't work. It's either LC 9 Wraps, or OME.......I'd go with the 9 wraps, and then do the Tundra Strut Assemblies.
As for using the entire front end off a Tundra....I've never heard of this, and if I had to guess....it probably wouldn't work either.
Best and most economical route to fit 35's, without any MAJOR modifications:
- USED Strut Assemblies from a 2000 TRD Tundra 4x4 Access Cab with a Topout spacer from Toytec and your 4Runner Top Plate.
- Diff Drop Kit from Toytec
- LC 9 Wraps with some LC rear shocks
- 2" Body lift
- maybe some light pounding and cutting, but probably not.
Now that being said, you could go with some Toytec Coilovers that are adjustable, those are really nice, but cost more than the Tundra Struts I got.
Your proposed method would most likely be more labour intensive, and I don't even think the components would work. Sure the suspension parts like the struts are the same as I proposed, but the suspension arms, and the rest including the front hubs and diff, won't be the same........

I had a similar idea because I kept reading that the long travel kits used tundra axles. I asked over at yotatec and was told that the arms on a tundra are the same as ours the reason that the axle shafts are longer is that the frame on a tundra is wider and so the axle shaft is longer. but the brakes and struts and springs are great, and if you want to do a long travel there are several companies that sell arms. Honestly if your looking to run 35's anything over 7 wraps will work and double topout plates in the front with some sledge hammer work and a little trimming on the front bumper. Ask me how I know

Good luckcool now I now what I have to do to fit the 35" tires. I really appreciate the input from everyone. If I am not mistake the front ifs assembly on the 00-06 Tundra is the same as the 4runner/tacoma only wider. does anyone know if I am mistaken on this? If that is the case the components should line up and actually work very well.

nope. the tundra, 4runner, and tacoma are different. the 4runner and tacoma share a lot of parts except for a few minor differences. AFAIK, the only things that can be used from the tundra are the springs, shocks, and brakes.

The axles are longer, but the control arms are the same width. Toyota actually lists different part numbers between them all, not sure why, but the frame is wider, not the arms.

I remember a guy took his 2wd 4runner and installed a xfer case and all the components to make it a 4wd. If i remember correctly he used the front end off a tundra because the only part that will not transfer over is the CV shaft as previously stated and the struts, not sure what he put in. But the spindle, upper and lower arms are all the same. Knowing that makes me happy to have a 4runner. If all of our components can live with the extra weight and size of a tundra, well i guess these 4runners are even more beastly
