Tuning with AEM FIC (no search results)

I've done some searching but haven't found anything from this forum. Looking to pick up a piggyback for 3RZ 4R tuning, in the event that I get a little bit of boost in her. Best practice looks to be running it on the stock engine to produce accurate MAF tables (and o2 settings or no), then apply the power adders so you know where to clamp things. Pull timing based on FIC Map sensor readings (1-1.5° per lb of boost), and add fuel as required based on AFR data you collect while driving.

I'm not very new to tuning. I have created tunes for boosted mustangs on full standalones from scratch with success but standalones give you full control where piggybacks are playing some tricks on the stock ECU. Anybody run this FIC before and do you have anything to say about it? From all I've read, it seems to solve any issue with o2 sensors or MAF sensors that I could see being a potential issue.

Go to tacomaworld. Lots of boosted applications.

Sounds like you got it though. I always had to remove fuel when tuning due to fuel pressure rises with boost and usually ran 1200cc-2000cc injectors. Also most stock turbo ecus run pig rich.

Just run a wbo2 and you will be golden.

That's a monster injector, are we still talking about a turbo 4runner here? lol

Speaking of the WB02, I'll obviously want to use one for tuning but I imagine the FIC still outputs some sort of Naturally Aspirated NBo2 voltage output so the ECU doesn't know it's running at 11.5AFR at WOT. Sound right?

Thanks! I had actually read through that thread last week while my account activation was struggling and forgot about it. Didn't come up in my search though. Looks like 3-4 have posted about *some* success with install and tuning. Still seems like best approach is data collection on a bone stock engine to gather o2 and maf values when naturally aspirated, then clamp those values when it's boosted.

E85 fuel requires that if running some good boost. But not my tuning is not based off a 4runner, but all tuning is applicable.

Im not sure on the FIC NB simulation. My tuning tools would run its own simulation so it would not throw a CEL because the NB has been removed. Im also running speed density instead of a maf.

Yeehh i was just messin with ya. I run e85 in my v8 cars as well and have reasonably big injectors for that too, friggin 8 of them. :/ I'll have to see about the NB stuff. More researching to come, as always.
