Turn signals/DRL not working at all

The DRL will not come on when the truck is on and none of the blinkers work (all 4). No voltage to the sockets. Is this a bad turn signal relay? I cannot locate a fuse anywhere. I know the relay is behind the interior fuse box.. how easy is it to replace the relay? Or should I have it looked at by dealership? I hate going there because they charge out the ass

Sorry. I don't have a solution for you. However, it doesn't sound like something that would require the specialization that you can only find at a dealership. A good independent mechanic should be just as capable of making that diagnosis.

4th gen Runners with DRL's are notorious for having their DRL/turn signal sockets "burn out" (presumably from the heat and wear of being on ever second that the vehicle is running. Although, they usually do not burn out at the same time (is this what happened to you?), I suppose that it could happen. Outside of that, it could be a bad relay or fuse. Anyway, my driver side DRL/turn signal socket burned out one day. about five weeks later, the passenger side burned out. I simply purchased new sockets from the dealer and spliced them in. I then installed LED bulbs to prevent heat/future problems. Good luck!

check your turnsignal/drl relay under the dash. mine just went out and took the drls and turnsignals.

Check power TO the relay first, before ordering anything. Check the fuse, then check the power at the relay.

I made this little diagram for myself a while back. It should help you in this instance as well. The picture is of the DRL / turn signal relay connector.

Had this same thing a couple weeks ago and I had a blown fuse in the box on the steering column. Blown fuse was being caused by an exposed speaker wire grounding out. Patched the wire and changed the fuse and good to go. Hope you figure out the issue.

thanks A/V1! That helps a lot for the future. I bought a new relay from the dealer and installed myself. All good now! Well except one burnt bulb that needs replacing. Thanks for the help everyone!
