right on. the 2808 code ("Alternative", in ScanGauge parlance) is the tranny pan temp, and a more stable, reliable measure. the 3808 code is the torque converter temp, which fluctuates pretty dramatically, as one would expect.I used the second line of info under General Toyota here

The TE is coming along nicely. Typical of your other builds. Just curious, but what happened to the 1997 build thread? I went to look at it for reference and it's gone.out:

i had trouble getting it to work on mine at first as well; never figured out why, exactly. in the end, what got it to work was entering it again in as an entirely new X-Gauge and then it worked perfectly.I tried the alternate code and it doesn't work on my truck. Only the one I mentioned which is the 3808 code works but it remains pretty steady so I'm not sure what fluctuations you are referring to.

i can see a discernible difference between the temps reported by the torque converter and the temps from the pan. no reason it shouldn't work on your truck.
Thank you for this!! I tried getting the pan temp code to work at least a dozen times with no success. I just went out and changed that 1 to a 0 and I now have both temperatures working. I'm excited to use this next time we tow a trailer.as an FYI to others.
If you look at the scanguage website it shows this for the alt code under TXD: 07E12182

I'm assuming you meant torque convertor and not transfer case?Ran the truck up through the smokey mountains last weekend and noticed the large temp swing between the transfer case and transmission pan. At times I saw as much as 40 to 50 degree differences between them. Top temp on either only hit 185 degrees with the average being down around 140. Engine temp rocked steady at 184 though.
I'm hopeful that starting Friday I can start to tackle the radflo install and my rocker slider install. Will update with pictures if I do. Any install tips appreciated.
