I did see it. Even posted on the thread. LOL

Just personal preference I guess. Few reasons really.

1) I like the way the CBI bumper gets the spare up higher and at an angle. The Shrockworks one looks too low and asthetically I like the CBI placement.
2) I like the look of the CBI side panels that go all the way to the wheel well. The shrockworks one looks odd to me. Especially on the white truck shown on their website.
3) I like the tire swing being attached on top of the bumper like CBI. The Shrockworks is attached lower on the face of the bumper and to me seems like it could more easily take a hit if dropping off a ledge.

I could go on but you get the idea. The only thing I really liked better on the Shrockworks is the possibility of a removable hitch receiver and a gate made from tubular steel instead of angle iron. The one thing I noticed in that thread is that most of the suggestions were trying to make the Shrockworks more like the CBI bumper.

Anyway, just my opinions. Both are nice and I will have Shrockworks front bumper and skids.

No action shots but had a lot of fun with the family and dog riding the mule on our place up north this weekend.

Also got home to find my neighbor bought a 2003 sequoia limited with 55k miles on it. Looks to be in really great shape given age but needed some wheels and tires. We worked a deal on my extra rims/tires. I think they look awesome on the sequoia. Better than they did on my blue or grey runners. Besides the funds helped pay for my CBI tire swing, table and spare FN wheel.

Originally I had planned to keep the michelins to use for road tires on long trips for work but after driving with the cooper st maxx on there for a few weeks I think they will be fine for full time use. They are pretty aggressive treads but they don't ride as rough as a pure mud tire and have better highway manners. Rather than mess with swapping tires I'll just replace these when they wear down.

Managed to put the Cooper ST Maxx tires in a little mud and clay this weekend and they performed awesomely. This wasn't mud bogging but rather driving through roads and trails that had water crossings, muddy sections and general soft, wet, clay conditions. The tires seemed to clear and grab like a champ.

Afterwards doing between 70 and 80 on the interstate they were nice and smooth and relatively quiet. I'm pretty pleased with them so far for an all around tire that can handle the southeastern dirt/mud on occasion.

Small update.

Per email from CBI [MENTION=64712]CBI OffRoad Fab[/MENTION] that my rear bumper is complete and out for powdercoating.

And per email from [MENTION=68079]drabbits[/MENTION], my roof rack should be ready somewhere around the last week of February.

No updates from Shrockworks yet other than my skids are ready but I told them to just ship them with the bumper to limit the number of delivery trucks I have to meet.

As crazy as it seems it looks like I might get the rear bumper before the front bumper, skids and roof rack that were all ordered a couple of months ago.

Shrockworks has to wait until they get enough orders to make a laser cut run. It does not take 6 months to build a bumper, but it takes 6 months to get enough people to justify the laser cutting.

Your realistically looking at 6 months on that one. It is very nice product one you get it.

Thankfully I ordered it during a group buy so hopefully that helps a little. Estimate was 4 months or less, and if more we got another price discount. We will see I guess.

First attempt at plastidip and boy did I make a mess. Used the spray can version and results were not good.

Guess I waited too long to peel the tape as the plastidip pulled off with the tape.

Ended up peeling it all off but left the scoop insert coated to see how it turns out when dry

Honestly, I was doing this as a test to see how it looked with the end game plan to get it sprayed flat black at a paint shop but I'm not sure I like how this was looking with the test coverage area anyway. Back to the drawing board but I've got to get it coated to cut the glare back into the windshield.

[MENTION=66624]KCcarguy[/MENTION] dipped his 4runner with a gun. Bunch of coats. It looked pretty damn good when he was done. He too had some edge issues.

Me, and of course a bunch of others, had hoods wrapped with 3M 1080 Matte Black. You can buy measured cuts on fleabay for reasonable, 3M also makes this knifeless tape that you lay down before you wrap then pull to cut the vinyl after you set it. Unfortunately I wish I could tell you how well the line tape work, I just stumbled upon a youtube demo clip off it.

Shortly after your last coat, pull the tape while it's still drying, comes right off.

I'm probably going to try again. I'll do a better job of covering the windshield this time to prevent overspray too.

I'm just not sure what design would look and work best with this hood short of doing the whole hood. I don't really like the stripe look where it goes all the way from windshield to grille. Any ideas or sample pics to check out?

The CBI rear bumper showed up yesterday. Got it unpacked and so far didn't find any shipping damage. Haven't taken it off the pallet but the parts I can see look good so far. For those that missed it, I ended up ordering it with a tire swing-out, fold down table, extra antenna mount on passenger side of swing-out, and a cover for the spindle if I want to remove the swing-out. The spindle cover should be here soon as it will ship separately. It's getting powder coated now.

Will be the weekend before I can attempt the install. I'm excited as it looks like it turned out really nice. I've got some Rigid D2 Wide lights that would probably fit but I'm thinking I need to get the diffused lights. I planned to use the D2 wide lights up front with a set of D2 driving lights anyway.

Thanks. Me too. The wait till the weekend will be tough but I don't want to rush it right now as it involves some cuts to the bumper and what not. Want to be able to take my time but unlike my 97 this one is my daily driver so I have to attack my projects from a different standpoint since I can't leave this one sitting in the garage on jack stands for a month on end. LOL

It was not my favorite color, I wanted blue/white/silver ahead of this, but the mgm is pretty much the only trail color my local dealer sells, and it was the best price in the state by far at the time so I jumped on it. They are looking much better built up that I thought they would.
