Uncomfortable seat

Is it just me? Or are the seats the most uncomfortable things going?
I'm like 5'7" and the seat bottom and back are horrid.
I remember when I took a test drive in a leather sr-5 it wasn't bad. But I bought the regular sr-5 and the driver seat is giving me fits .......l
Can not find a good seating position.....
Had to resort to using a "wedge" type memory foam cushion to flatten, or plane out the seat. The front of the seat bottom is too high.
Anyone else have a hard time getting comfortable in the driver seat?

Seats are a very personal thing. That said, I have no issues with my seats (6' / 200). I have 17k miles in the last 5 months in my truck. I've driven from NY to Co to Upper Michigan to Texas and back forth to KC and Texas numerous times. Even did a Denver to Idaho in my dad's Limited once.

I can't complain about the seats. Seem to be treating me well.

I'm right there with ya. I hate my seat. I'm 5'10" 210 lbs and I can't drive for ten minutes without shifting seven different times. I have the same pain in the low back area. I have resorted to moving the seat closer and leaning way back. It's not that bad but it doesn't work for long trips...at all. I'll eventually upgrade to some Recaro's or something else.

My seat feels fine but then again, my daily drive in it is only 25 minutes per day. I usually sit in a Crown Vic seat around 8 hours a day...talk about a terrible seat!

BTW, I'm 5'8 and weigh 190

To each his own I guess...

I've done a few 5 hour + trips in my 4runner and really like the feel of the seats. On my previous car - a Volvo XC 90 - if I drove more than 2 hours my lower back would lock up and I'd walk around looking like a folded lawn chair until it worked itself out.

It's not the seat for me, but rather the arm rest. It is a bit low. So I have to lean to one side or use the window ledge to rest my elbow. Life is so bittersweet!:driving:

Oh thank the lord.....

I'm not the only one......
There's good days.....very few
And then there's horrible days......A LOT
this "tush cush" wedge seems to help.....

Thx for your reply

I know the feeing

Used to do that 12 hours a day.
I didn't mind since they were on the soft side and the seat bottom can be adjusted to almost flat......
Only problem was the wear and tear in the seat back bolster above the seat belt receptacle......if your right handed

This!!
I love the seats, even prefer it to my fancy ergo task chair I use at work.
(of course that's "work" vs. "road trip")
8 hrs is no problem, I have my seat back very upright and lumbar is all the way off.

Meh

My seat is OK. I find I don't really think about it until one of these threads comes up. Then I wiggle around in my seat for a few days, wondering if it's my imagination, or am I really uncomfortable? Then I forget all about it and everything's fine. My one beef is the steering column doesn't adjust a little lower and closer. I can't hang my hand off the steering wheel at 12:00. If I move the seat closer, I got no room for my legs. If I raise the seat up, I got no room for my head. Oh well, guess I gotta live with my odd proportions

I'm used to bucket seats, so these seats actually are comfortable to me. I have the seat back maxed out going forward and the seats pushed all the way back, I'm 6'1" and its perfect. The only time it really felt uncomfortable was about 12 hours in my 14 hour drive to Colorado lol.

If you really don't like the seats, anything is possible. You could get custom seat brackets made, throw something else in there. Maybe some Recaros?

I just drove 2k miles in 2 day's

I have a 2012 Sr5 and I'm 5'7", 150lb. My seat fits me like a glove. I would play with the lumbar support.
