Uneven Tire Pressure

Hey guys,

I have a 2012 Limited with stock tires/rims. I have been taking it to dealer to get the free oil changes, and of course they check your basic stuff like tire pressure. So I never bothered to check the tires.

The other day I was thinking of adding extra air to maybe improve my milage and noticed that my front tires where set at 44/45 psi and the rear where set at 40. Anyone know if there is a reason for that? I am guessing since the front is heavier, but never seen that done on other cars.

Anyone know if this is ok or should I lower them to 40 to make them even?

Only reason is whomever checked them last did not put the correct pressure in them. Should be the same all around.

And I believe that the sticker in your door says 38psi so they already ran it high . Not near the truck right now, but I'm pretty sure 40psi is high for the stock LE wheel / tire combination.

Okki

Thank you guys. I thought it was abnormal after reading multiple threads, and no-one with simular "issue." Going to lower them to 38-39 or so.

On a sports car I run different tire pressures to add oversteer to fling the car around.

On our glorified station wagons, the pressures should be equal all around.
