Unrest in the Middle East, What is your take on this?

Gas going up, people over throwing their governments. Blood shed and no one knows where it will end up. What do you think about what is going on?

I'm hoping this will dismantle OPEC and that we can get a real market based price on oil and stop all the price manipulation.

once again more bloodshed from the "peaceful" religion. I am not a geologist, scientist or even a college grad, but I do believe at some point we need to build more refineries and start tapping into our own oil. Just think of the jobs it would create in these tough economic times. Not to mention end the dependency on foreign oil, and most likely the majority of our middle eastern "wars". That may be very far from the solution, its just my uneducated opinion.

i have no idea what is going on over there. I know a lot of this is coming from a youth movement. They are using technology to let their voices be heard. (twitter, facebook, etc)

I'm interested to see what will happen in these nation states. Is the youth movement going to influence the Islam culture back to it's roots?, or, are they going to use some western influences, like the clothing and democracy, etc, etc.

Interesting times for sure, kinda scary. Let's hope iran doesn't get that nuke it wants.

That would be the optimist’s thoughts. I am usually an optimist but I think there are underlying forces behind much of this unrest (fighting) and the unions being formed will go way beyond the price of oil.

I don't think much will change in the big scheme of things. I don't recall a time in that region when there wasn't a revolt going on against themselves or somebody. As far as they are concerned, war is life - at least for the last few thousand years. Nothing new IMO.

Thats how I feel. Im hopeful for those who want to escape the dictatorship/Tyrannical leadership of their countries.

But I just paid $3.59 a gallon for 87 yesterday, and gas seems to be creeping up. Im hoping it doesnt get to the 07 or 08 high point. the highest I paid was $4.69 a gallon... It took over $80 to fill my 4runner up. I cannot afford that! Im glad I drive a civic........ This is getting crazy

the wife and I filled up yesterday (2/21/2011), we live in Northern Ky, just south of Cincinnati, for $2.99, on my way home today (2/22/2011) it was $3.29
