Upcoming Lift Questions

Hey Everyone,

Im looking to get a Toytec Boss Suspension for my 2014 Limited 4x4. Is this the way I should go? What other routes are there around the same price range? Im looking to lift 2.5-3". Im also debating with getting the dealer in my area to install vs a local shop.

So far the top of my list for my silver 2014 limited is level 8 mk6 gunmetal wheels. 17" but do I need to get -10mm offsets or neutral? I want to hear peoples thoughts.

Im also thinking 285/70/17 but not sure. Is this the right tire size. Ive looked through the lift section and see others doing this.

As for lift options, there are so many out there that you must think about the type of wheeling you'll be doing and such.

Its a daily driver first. Im looking to keep that comfort for my wife riding in as well as be able to take on trails and light off road. Im in central florida so basically I will be doing the Ocala National Forest trails and driving on the beach that I go to which 4x4 is a must.

The toytec boss is nice, you will like the front coil over compared to xreas, it will be fine at low speed and highway speeds, mid speed has more body roll. I have different rear coils so can't comment on those, and I'm lower overall but you will definitely want 285's with that kit. Anything smaller tire wise will not look good and probably not be as stable.

You might consider my setup for the daily driving to be honest. I was within $100 and it's almost the same but a little lower, you could still do 285's.

As far as offset goes it depends on the wheel width.

The boss is a good setup. One of the guys was rolling it yesterday and is happy with it.

That would be me yesterday lol. I've had the Boss set up for a few weeks now and really tested it yesterday. On and off road it soaks up bumps without being overly stiff. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I also run stock size tires and while I've never run 285s, I was also pretty happy with them yesterday. You can see some of what I tackled in the what did you do in your 5th gen thread. They're load E Cooper STMaxx and combined with the boss setup makes the truck feel very grounded with reduced roll but not too stiff (to me). I did the tires then the shocks about 4 days apart.

I have about 20k on my Boss lift with LR UCAs and Duratrac 285s on SCS Stealth 6 wheels. I think it's a great setup for on and off road and I have been really amazed that the setup has been super quiet and never squeaks or creaks.
