Update on Toytech 2/1.5 spacer lift - year later!

Greetings all! It has been a while since I have posted on this forum...as life got in the way a bit (babies tend to do that!). Anyway, I have received a few emails in reference to my spacer lift and how things have held up. So, a quick update: my 2010 4runner ride is EXCELLENT with this lift set up. After a few months, everything felt a bit more "worked in" and the ride was noticeably smoother. At first, it felt a tad bit rough on occasion over a deep hole...but not bad. Now, smooth as butter. Dont get me wrong, spending the big bucks would make it feel even better...but I am content. I have done light offroading A LOT - mountains for kayaking/fishing...and the beach/bay. Everything has held up great. So...there you go. For those looking for a subtle lift...go for the Toytec spacer kit. If you want pics, just do an advanced search for my name - I have a few posts dedicated to the lift. Also, with 35k on the Nitto TG's - I can also say they have held up great as well! Finally, I can't tell you how much I love the truck with OUT the factory rails. Just makes it look a bit more retro. I have a rigged utility trailer with thule racks for my kayaks, surf boards, and fishing poles. Anyway, that's it...hope this helps someone out there.

Thanks for the update. A few questions if you don't mind.

Did you go with the E load Terra Grapplers or the P rated and would you buy them again?

If they are the E rated, is the stiffness of the ride the tires or the spacer lift?

Any rubbing with the spidertrax and the TGs?

P rated...and yes, I would buy them again. I had them on my old f150 as well and they performed great. They are also smoother for everyday driving. No rubbing at all, but I had to move the front fender forward a bit. Hope this helps!

Hey Ted thanks for the update. Your original posts were what steered me in the spacer lift direction. As I too was looking for "subtle" lift. Unfortunately as i spend a good chunk of my day commuting. I went with the day star. Can you elaborate on the rail removal....I am assuming it's the roof rails you are talking about.

Yes...if you search on here or check out the mods link you will find a post regarding the "roof rack delete" option. IMO - the plastic caps look dumb and are too bulky. I originally took it off to eventually replace with a Baja rack...but fell in love with the sleek look. Plus, with the lift it is a hell of a lot easier to load kayaks and surf boards on a trailer! Also...glad you like the lift on your own truck and that I inspired you!!!

Ted, thanks for the reply and details...great info. I spend 99% of my time on pavement, now I need to decide if the TGs are the right answer for the other 1% and your post helps.
