Upgrading from 15" to 16" wheels, will 15" spare still work?

Hello everyone, as the title states I currently have 15" wheels with 30 inch tires that I am replacing with 16" wheels running 32s.. In a pinch, will my current 15" full sized wheel with 30 inch spare work or do I have to get another 16" with the same tire?

Since it's a spare, yeah it should be no problem lol.

In a pinch. Kind of like a doughnut spare. I wouldn't run it on the rear at all, but on the front and in 2wd it should get you to a garage.

If you want a spare you can throw on and run a hundred miles home on, better get one to match. -at least I would.

as a temp sure, you should getting a matching size spare off CL for dirt cheap. If you upgrade your calipers it probably wont fit.

The stock 225/75-15" tires are closer to 28" (28.4"). If you are stepping up to a 265/75-16, those are 31.6" which is 11.7% bigger.

I'd say it will work in a pinch, but getting the right size tire would be a better idea. Any old used one near the right size should be fine for temp street use.

If you are going to upgrade the brakes (probably a good idea!), remember that the 16" wheel brakes (or Tundra brakes) don't fit under 15" wheels. Also, the rear wheel cylinders are larger on the 16" wheel trucks, so upgrade those while you are at it.

If you go at the junk yard you can get a beautiful,almost new, used tire, 40-50 bucks.
