Upgrading the Intake..

Hey all,
I'm new here, my name is Pat.
Anyway, I just got a 1999 4-Runner SR5 Sport this past week and I am looking for Intakes.

I was just wondering if I can get opinions on which is the best value/best performance product between the K&N/AEM/INJEN intakes. All seem really great but what has everyone else experienced with these intakes?

Thanks :)

I can get you any of these intakes. Shoot me an email if you want for more info.

Honestly, I can't confirm how much power this will add, but you don't really want one if you have the supercharger. Tests have shown that these will actually decrease power on a supercharged 4Runner.

has anyone ever done a Blackstone report on their 4runner with a K&N filter... I know with Ford diesels K&N filters usually are the influence for silicone buildup in the oil samples. (bad thing).

I just picked up a KN drop in filter before my trip to Tahoe this weekend. I didn't notice any huge gain in power though the intake sounded a tad bit louder.

Finally a good pic. This does give a solid power increase. More than any other from what I hear.

the power, noise change, and acceleration i got out of my K and N is amazing. id buy another one for any other car i might one day drive. and the cleaning kit is about 10 bucks and has about 10 uses per kit and takes about 15 min to clean. its an amazing product and worth the dollar

would that work with a 98

I just checked with Gadget, (aka the 4runner guru master), and he said the MAF sensor is completely different 96-98 trucls. It can't be transplanted to the new intake box thing either.

So, 99 and later only!

i think it's basically the air filter that works the hp. or would the tube of the intake do anything special? i always thought that K&N filters the air better so that's how there's more hp. but deckplate mod is rather simple. just like any normal aftermarket intake. just more air into the air filter. but that's my 2 cents. ;):
