Upgrading to 4th gen: Price point for selling 3rd gen

Hey guys, questions in regards to selling price of my 3rd gen. I want to upgrade to a 4th gen, around 2006-2007 sport addition. I live in Colorado Springs and it seems there is still a high demand for the 3rd gens. Am I crazy thinking I can get 5k out of it? Any feedback would be great. I will get some pictures up shortly.

I have a 1997 SR5:
206,xxx miles.
4x4.
Manual.
After market bluetooth/ipod ready stereo
Brand new tires, Yokohama with 5,000 miles on them
White LED in gauge cluster
A/C works great


The following maintenance has been done within the last 10 months:
Spark plugs and wires
front break pads and rotors
front and rear differential fluid
transfer case and transmission fluid
inner and outer tie rod ends
sway bar bushings- front and rear
sway bar end links- front
springs and struts- front
struts- rear ( i have the springs just havent put them on yet)

No rust underneath. Small hole in left rear bumper that seems to be very common, pretty much the only cosmetic flaw.

It's hard to tell without photos, but up here in CT they go for more than 5k all day.

You can ask for a premium of probably 1k more since it is a manual. People will pay bookoo bucks for one. I would have... if there was any for sale in my area 6 months ago!

Just my opinion, but you shouldn't get a 4th gen! It seems that my 98 is built better than my dad's 04. Sure it has more power, but an automatic transmission sucks. I also love the fact of how small the 3rd gen is compared to the 4th. If you do sell it, in that shape they go for 7-8000 around here.

That truck looks super clean. I would ask at least 5k all day. The interior looks immaculate. The 4th gen is also a great truck. It drives and feels more like a car versus our 3rd gens that drive more like a truck. The 4th gens are more refined as well. If you do get one I would try and get the V8. It doesn't do much worse on gas than the V6 and it has just silly power for an SUV, especially when compared to a 3rd gen. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for confirming for me. Ive put it for sale on Autotrader. I mainly want a 4th gen because I drive about 30-40 minutes to work one way, so I figure the 4th gen will be a little more comfortable. Couple more pictures below. Let you friends know

Why trade an offroad machine for a kid totin mom-mobile? Haha but that looks nice, I paid 7k for mine with a good amount of rust, so yours should go for 8k easy
