I just clued into this forum and just signed up!
Yesterday I bought a used and well mentained 2005 4Runner with 95,700kms/60,000miles. I have till the end of the day to choose to buy or not buy the extended comprehensive warranty for 3yrs/60,000kms for $1800 Canadian. It only has 20,000 kms/less than 1 year of powertrain warranty remaining. Should I buy the extended warranty? Buy 3rd party warranty or nothing?Thanks in advance!
The following regular maintanance was done a toyota delership:
It has extensive service history from the delership including 8 oil changes, 2 changes of the differential and transfer case fluid, multiple air and cabin filter changes and 2 changes of spark plugs. The delership did a maintance service, replaced the automatic transmission fluid, cabin air filter, spark plugs and tightened and lubed the propellor shaft 1 week ago. The sunroof leak was repaired at 30,000kms. The front and rear brake pads were replaced at 79,000kms with the front rotors. That's the short version of the history, it all looks like regular maintance except for the sunroof and brakes (which is good because I don't have to have it done) and there appear to be no repairs for anything such as engine, transmission, switches... should not be a lemon.
