~~~~~~~. URGENT. 7th injector installation help. Wiring.
So after a year of driving my truck with the 7th and 2.2 pulley. I may have figured out why my truck is still not running correctly.
I say this because another guy recently posted videos of his stock tune and afr meter. His afr change instantly down to 11.5 when his injector is told to start spraying. Mine goes to 13.5 and starts lowering from there. I have also had to change my map, up to 30% more fuel than the stock tune just to see number in the 11s. But it's not instant. I work into it.
So I was going back to the basic and looking over the entire 7th injector install process. I think I have wired it wrong.
My truck is a 2000 limited with 2 cats, It does not have the o2 sensors. It has an afr sensor (factory as well as mine I aftermarket added)
But tell me which one of these wire diagrams I should be using?
thanks for your help guys. i think i got it figured out.
i worked on the truck this morning after the rain stopped. I took the glove box out and reviewed the wiring harness to the diagram i installed it to, (and it was wrong) I then changed it to the correct wiring diagram (non federal emissions, like the first picture i posted.)
so this is how i had the truck wired for a year.
connection A is correct
connection B is wrong
on the federal emissions it wants it tapped into pin E17, non federal it wants E18, so i changed it.
connection C is correct
connection E and F is correct
connection G and H is correct
connection I and J is wrong. now this is where things went crazy.
the wiring diagram says cut the ecu wire in a good location and splice in the pink wire to one side you cut, and a pink/purple wire into the other side, so the signal goes into and out of the AIC controller.
Now what blows my mind is why i did not do that, I just tapped into the B12 wire like i had with some of the previous wires. so it was an easy just cut the wire and wrap it all back up.
Went for a test drive and it runs much better, What i did notice is that the 7th injector does not spray as early as it had before the wire changes, it runs much better, the truck still needs to relearn how to get the fuel trims in sync. I also need to set the AIC back to factory setting because i had to adjust it all just to get the truck to run back on the old settings.
this thing never ends! i love it! does anyone have some headers sitting around?
