I wouldn't recommend running anything small than an 8" wheel.

Then don't run an 11" wide tire. That's way too wide for a light truck like a 4Runner anyway, they'd pretty much suck for everything everywhere. Except wheeling in DEEP snow, I guess. And looking stoopid at the mall, they'd probably be good at that too.

I'm running 35x12.50x16 on stock rims, have been for over a year, and they're fine.
Yeah, they have a lip at the rim, but the way I see it, that protects the rim a little more when you air down.
I'm not trying to start anything crazy here. I'm being genuinely curious.

Better buy some spacers then. You're going to rub like hell if you put those on a stock rim. A 33x11x16 is pretty close to a 285/75/16 which I run, but not on stock rims. The 33's are 2.2% narrower, and .3% larger in diameter.
