US OEM Bug Shield On Canadian 4Runner

Hey guys.

I came across dozens of threads, and did not see anything that discussed fit of the US OEM Bug Shield on the Canadian 4Runner though it seems that some of you US members were more interested in the Canadian bug shield. Why there are 2 versions is beyond me. Looked at a few others like the AVS but there seemed to be issues with whistling at highway speeds.

Anyway, from what I have seen and read, I like the look of the US Bug Shield better. It's cleaner and doesn't have the screws visible on the top of the shield. I just want to confirm that it will fit on the Canadian 4Runner and there is no silly reason why it wouldn't fit (like the pre-drilled holes on the under side of the hood that you screw into). You never know (and I clearly don't)!

Also, feel free to post any updated experiences you have had with either the US or CDN shield. It looks like there haven't been many posts in a while.

PS- I just posted in the For Sale/Wanted Thread if anyone is getting rid of theirs.

This thread can be ignored. After much thought (lol, for a frickin' bug deflector) I decided to go with the Canadian OEM bug deflector despite the screws on the top side of the deflector. My only reason for doing this is because if there are any issues with it, I can take it up directly with the dealership here rather than haggle with the online parts store out of the US which could potentially not work out well.

Good choice, the Canadian one seems more "sleek" to me anyway. I have the US one for the same reason you're going with the Canadian one, lol.

lol, really? I thought the US version looked a little sleeker. Guess we both have "grass is greener" symptoms. I'll post pics once I get it. The dealership said they should have it by Fri morning. I'm driving 420km down the highway that afternoon/evening so hoping to get it on before leaving!

Haha, yep the US one seems to stick upwards a tiny bit more, while the Canadian one appears to hug the curves of the hood tighter. After all, it is human nature to want what we can't have :lmao:
