Don't know if everyone knows this, but i found it helpful. this applies if equipped with the JBL NAV unit. If you have a usb stick with several folders on the stick, and hit random when playing, it will only play the songs in that folder in random order. but if instead of pressing random, you hold random, the unit will beep and play all the songs on the stick, regardless of their folder, in random order. sorry if this was obvious to anyone, but i just figured it out and thought it was helpful.

And for those with the JBL without NAV.

Press the Random button once to play songs randomly from 1 folder (there is a small Folder icon next to the "RDM" label")

Press the button again, and it plays songs from the entire stick (instead of a Folder icon, there is an icon resembling a CD)
