Im in the same situation as you lol Im about to say screw this and just go get a new one!!!! WAY TOO EXPENSIVE USED plus they did not want to drop the price by that much!
My dealer that sells new Toyotas is called Tony Divino Toyota and imma check with them tomorrow. I also want Quotes!

Yea, I second what Harper7 is saying. Reason being is bc I got mine with a few extra bells and whistles for just a bit more than $32K. Also, considering they want that much for a T4R that has 25K on it. Yea, I wouldn't go for that particular one. I used to work at a Toyo in GA and from what I've come to learn, the reason as to why used vehicles are priced higher than what they should be is bc there was a lot invested into the vehicle to either get it as a trade or they want their money back from the cost of repair with some inflation...so like Qjake stated...check the CARfax

hello everyone, my name is dave and i joined these forums about a month ago. And i'm here because i need your help (those who have 5th gen 4runners) i am looking for one and hope to buy one really soon. I found a used one where i live in utah for $31,975.00, is that a good price for a used one? It has 25,000 miles on it. It also has third row,bluetooth, rear back-up camera, 4wd, and a whole lot of other features. Im really interested to hear everyones opinions? So please comment. Also what you think of it being salsa red? Should i go with another color like blizzard pearl or black?
i bought new 2012 for that price before taxes with 2 miles on the clock, no3rd row no rearview camera and standart stereo.
3row is too small anyway, stereo i will most likely redo anyway and aftermarket rearview is way less expensive then tiny toyota version. I`d gladly pay for electric tailgate but it`s not available.my wife 2011 venza nas it and i love ithow convenient that is.
I am dubious to say the least.
"Pretty much 0% financing" is not available on the 5th gen 4R. Maybe 2.99% on the very low end which is about $50/month interest on $20K borrowed. Def not zero. And $4K depreciation on a 70K mile taco that you bought new and then traded in - check your paper work as this is more than likely "pretty much" $4k rather than $4K.

I looked at my contract, it is 2.4% interest. I remembered it as 1.5%, which I was calling close to 0%. I will pay less than $2K over 5 years in interest, that is around $30 a month. If I wanted a 4 year loan, they were offering 0% as I remember it.
I bought my truck right when the economy tanked and gas prices were near $5 a gallon. I got a smoking deal on my Tacoma new, if I was looking at a prius at the time I would have been screwed. I traded the truck in for $21K and some change, I took good care of it and had all the service documents to show what work I did on the truck. When I sat to go through the loan on the 4rnr with the finance guy, he was blown away with how little net the Tacoma cost me to own for 4 years. And to add more detail to this, the dealer called me to see if I wanted to trade-in my Tacoma, so I was in a good position for buying; if the numbers were not what I wanted on the deal, I would just keep the Tacoma. They needed used Tacomas, I was interested in a new 4rnr, so it worked out.
So I was mistaken about the interest rate that I received, if I wanted a shorter loan then my statement would have been 100% accurate. Everything else is accurate.
To stay on topic, to the OP; do your research and do not write-off a new 4rnr, as the dealer may be willing to deal. If not, look for another dealer if it is possible.
Each dealer is different and even the finance guys have latitude to move on the interest rate if it means they want a sale. It also depends on your credit.
The economy is still not great in many parts of the country and each region is going to be different.
There was even a thread on here about shopping hard for the extended warranty and that certain dealers were willing to sell the warranty at much lower than other dealers.

Not to stir the pot or anything but I bought my brand new 2012 LE at 1.99% APR......and you always get lower APR on new rather than used, the best (and I have a 790 credit score) I could get on used was 3.49% through my local credit union on used, that's one of the reasons I went with new.

I would buy new simply because for another 1 to 2k you could get new vs used. Sounds like you do not like the color red, but like black. For over 30k, keep looking for a black one. You don't want to have buyers remorse everytime you look at the red 4R. Keep in mind black really does show every little dirty detail, but if you keep it clean, it looks sexy! I washed my black 4r twice, only because the dead bugs from the highway driving were forming a new layer on the front 
everytime I drive by the dealer, I say to myself, wow my 4r could look that good when it's clean, oh well too lazy if you don't like to frequently wash your truck and the sight of it being dirty irks you, don't get black. Blizzard pearl looks clean when it's dirty, check out brockeverly's photos, he goes offroading and that thing looks like it just got a carwash. My sister's mag gray looks clean when it's dirty too. Happy hunting man!

Yes BLACK is the color I want it in but BLIZZARD PEARL looks like a BEAST!!!! I seen one the other day and was like WOW!!!! haha. Im really lazy to clean my car as well and the stories I hear with color black also scares me thou lol
Might have to check that out if I get it in black lol. My Dad tells me dont get it black because if there's a little scratch u can see it a mile away! -_- lmao

Yeah, I read that. You don't understand though, I am very lazy! But that would be a good choice if I were to clean my 4R. I wonder how much it would cost to have the whole 4R covered with rhino liner? Sorry for hijack

I've owned 2 black cars, and the only reason they looked good is because my sons were forever keeping them looking good, so they'd look good whilst driving them. But never again on black vehicles.
My BP is my first "white" vehicle ever - and it IS a fantastic color. As said, it looks good dirty. Clean, at night, it indeed looks "pearl".
I had a silver Pathfinder, also a good color when dirty.
I must say tho, IF I was looking at a new 4R, it might just be a SR TE w/ TRD wheels. Me likey!

I own 3 white autos and one silver. Parents always bought black cars and they per a PIA to keep clean. Silver and beige (ugly) are the easiest and never look dirty, but white looks sweet.
My 11 4Runner is BP, my wife's TL is DWP, and my 97 4Runner is stark wight and still looks good.
And with reference to used vs. new, I keep my vehicles forever (97 T4R) so I say buy new because as the other posters have stated, used 4Runner are not going to be much cheaper than a new one. So go for it.

My parents also have had a lot of black vehicles and they always complained about all the little scratches and how it would scratch so easily. I seen a BP yesterday and my mouth was open the WHOLE TIME it shined and u couldn't tell it was white! very Elegant and Sexy
