I own 3 white autos and one silver. Parents always bought black cars and they per a PIA to keep clean. Silver and beige (ugly) are the easiest and never look dirty, but white looks sweet.
My 11 4Runner is BP, my wife's TL is DWP, and my 97 4Runner is stark wight and still looks good.
And with reference to used vs. new, I keep my vehicles forever (97 T4R) so I say buy new because as the other posters have stated, used 4Runner are not going to be much cheaper than a new one. So go for it.
