Uwharrie off road park meet up this weekend. Nov. 21st

The local FJ group is meeting up at Uwharrie national forest here in NC. So far it looks like 3 of us 4runners are going to be there with quite a few FJs. We are meeting at the El Diablo outpost on hwy 109 at 9am on Saturday. There will be two groups splitting up and meeting at the top of Daniel trail. Most of the FJs are going up the front side(the VERY difficult side), and some of us, like myself, are going up the back side(difficult but you can do it in a stock rig).

After we meet at the top I'm sure we will hit the other trails, I plan on doing wolfs den and falls dam after Daniel. Both are easy/moderate (I did them both when my truck was stock and only had 300 miles).

The day trail pass is only $5 and can be bought at the outpost.
We will probably leave the outpost around 9:10-9:15am.

It seemed like a good idea to me, I'm basically a newb at off roading (only have done light trails and snow) and would like to avoid doing something dumb to the new Trail.

I'll be there with my Dad. I convinced him to tag along; he'll be in a Tundra. I'll probably be the one grinning, while he's the one cursing.

The 101 Class taught by Scott is a great course. You will learn a lot! We took his course a couple years ago and learned a lot even though we have been wheeling for years.

I was down at Uwharrie a few weeks ago, the OHV trails are obviously closed right now but we tooled around on the regular forest roads there. If you want to try playing with your 4wd its a good spot, the trails were rough enough that 4Hi was needed in a few spots, especially coming back up from the "boat launch" on "Deep Water Trail" (how it is labeled on google maps).
