I definitely want to head up to Uwharrie in April (April 9th I heard). I have little experience with offroading like this, I've done parts of Uwharrie solo when I just went to check it out for the first time. Think I've only been on Dickey Bell with my 4runner(?)Got scared of some jagged rocks part way through though and turned around because I didnt have a spare at the time.
Edit: Looking again at the map it may have been Rocky Mountain loop that I did partly. based on my memory of its location.

Will be up there on April 9th - I'm in a group on facebook of guys who get dirty with their daily drivers. Only my second time and I'm ready to get down.

We are going to be at Uwharrie April 2nd and 22-24th. The second is the Jamboree and the 22nd-24th is the FJ group's annual first sponsored trail ride. The 2nd we might not ride the trails just because the waves of people that are going to be there would jam up all of the trails and turn them into parking lots. The 22nd we will probably be camped out at the training center if arraignments go to plan.

So who else is going to be at the 4wd 101 class Saturday at Uwharrie ORTC? Thought I saw there may be a few of us there. Looks like it's going to be a nice day

Im guess your not going to be hitting the extreme stuff so id say a recovery strap and shackles would be good. also I hitch shackle isn't a bad idea. other than that you should be good.

[MENTION=96774]SC01[/MENTION] El Diablo Outpost is right outside the parks entrance. Air compressors are in the parking area, press the green button on the underside for free air. probably a 1/4 mile from the parks entrance, and strait across the street from the training area.

yes, and a damn good one. Its called "the Outpost." Search it on your phone and its on google maps. Its approximately a mile from the entrance of the park and features all the camping amenities....except beer.
2.5 other things:
1. the air pump, which is located to the building's right hand side, has a small button on the underside of the pump panel for unlimited free air.
2. They also sell the OHV(Off Highway Vehicle) pass. You need to by a pass to use the trails so this place is like a one stop shop of 4x4ers.
2.5 They also sell the rifle range pass if you enjoy the subtleties.

The El Dorado Outpost is about 1/4-1/2 mile outside of the park entrance and has a pump. It's the same place where you buy your trail pass.

I didn't get in before the class filled so I have to wait until 6/25. Gives my sliders and lift an chance to get here so I'm not too bummed. Now I wait....
