v6 or v8

Funny, I don't know if the color is rare here in Vegas, but I have only seen onel. I see a lot of dark gray and red, go figure. I got silver and I LOVE it.

Um, on towing is where I wanted to chime in. My tandem axle boat trailer holding the SeaRay weighs in at about 4,800lbs and the rear of my 4Runner does not sag much with it on??? I did put a Daystar lift on and am running 255 75R17 tires with spacers. I think the droop comes when the tongue is not aligned properly?? It drops about 1/2 an inch for me.

Cars are more expensive up here in Canada, in particular used 4runners it seems. My 03 Sport with 150k km I just bought 3 months ago was at the dealer listed for 20k. I ended up getting it for 16.9k after you take off the price of the blocker heater and a few other things they threw in to make it Fort Mac worthy. It was legitimately hard to find used 4runners of years 03-06. Out of all the Toyota dealerships in Vancouver only about half or less even had any 4runners and only 2 ended up having the years I was looking for and found 1 other at a Volvo dealership. So it doesn't seem unreasonable. I defiantly agree with Flyer, play hardball. I was leaving in 5 days so I had to buy quick but the dealer didn't know that, I just kept mentioning the other two I was looking at and after a few back and forths we settled on a deal. I said my original budget was 15k...which was true, to make sure he got the initial idea.

The color is just fine. Let me put things in some perspective as far as price goes. A 2005 V8 4x4 SR5 T4R with 65,000 miles (that I just bought a month ago) was first listed at $21,000 but I picked it up for $19,000 at a dealership. It is in immaculate shape and was a one-owner trade. A Limited brings in another $1,000-$1,500 here. I saw one for $20,500 but did not want leather so didn't deal on it.

A limited only brings in $1000-$1500 more then the SR5 there? So a Sport only brings $500-$750 more then? It seems like it is about $1000-$1500 more here for the Sport and another $1000-$1500 again for the Limited.

Thanks for the tips on the offers and haggling. That is a good way I should look at it as I don't even know if this is the one I want. I really would prefer one with about 40,oookm's (25K miles) on it as this is the next purchase for a while, I plan on keeping this for the next 6-8 years maybe more.

Agreed... and like you said, they are harder to find and anything decently priced is sold fast. I found one last week that was just listed at a dealer about 3hrs from me. I called them and it was already sold but the salesman told me he was getting another one in currently on a trade-in and asked if I'd be interested. I asked him to email me the details and pics. The next day it was sold and he then told me about another trade-in (a V6 this time) just coming in, I asked him to send me the details. The next day he sent me an email appolozing profusely because it just sold as well. That was 3 4Runners sold at that dealership in 2 days. Simply because they all had low mileage and lots of people are looking for 4Runner. Its a supply and demand thing and this drives up the price a tad.
