All I have to say is...body lift? Really? Do it right and get a real suspension lift. Bash the floor in! :D

I really don't know why body lifts are so popular here, they're garbage. Sorry, just my opinion... :(

Anyways, awesome job with the swap! Looking forward to the finished product!

You do understand the purpose of the body lift is to clear the engine right? Something that can't be done with a suspension lift.

Yeah, that's why I said to bash the floor in. :D

To get the clearance all around - I would need to bash the drivers floor, the passenger floor and the hood.

Plus, I would have to re route the fuel lines so that they weren't that close to the cat.

I could have removed the manifold flanges but all the other issues are still there. Plus , I will be able to run 33"s.

I know some folks who carry fire extinguishers in their cars. No biggie.

Now the poor girl's Ford Escort that was on fire on the side of I95 last week outside of Salisbury did not. Lesson learned.

I was led to believe that going from 2WD to 4WD is an INSANE amount of work and parts, that is why many dream of but few ever accomplish it.

I have done three of the 4x4 conversions, one on the silver runner in my sig, another on a 98 Tacoma, and another on a 92 Toyota pickup.

if you know what yo are doing and have some experience and a knowledge of interchangeable Toyota parts, it is more simple than an SAS. something I also have done several of, even before it was cool.

after seeing more details, i retract my opinion against a body lift. That's far easier than I imagined the other way being. Plus, fuel lines that close to the exhaust...:toilet:

This build is dripping with personality. Well done, I may have to take a road trip down to NC to see it when it's finished.

Agreed! now hurry up and finish so I can come see :thanks:

Hall of Firsts?

Can we start a hall of firsts for monumental things like this? I'm not talking about a distinguishment for little mods but this is certainly a HUGE undertaking and one that the vast majority of us on here will probably never have the time, resources and Huevos to attempt...

I'm excited to see the finished product and can only imagine what it will sound like once he gets those duals run for it. :zoom:

Have you thought about wrapping the fuel lines with Be Cool/Thermo-Tech tape? It would probably help keep the heat off. I have used their header wrap before and it kept the heat in the downpipe (subaru wrx) that I installed. Just a thought...

That is a good idea. It would help the cats be more efficient too.

I would like to live in infamously like the satoshy grill mod but I have not done anything distinguished first.

Many people (I read about 3 on Tacos) have done V8 swaps.

The Taco ball joint OTR mod is called the Taco ball joint mod.

Every body and their brother has done an e-locker mod.

My ABS delete was a bust.

My Simultaneous Low beam High Beam mod did not get much fanfare.

Oh well, try to do the best I can with what I got.

Anyway, Today's accomplishments. I got the body lift mounted. I need to make a steering shaft extension. Ran out of welding wire though.

My daytime job is killing me as far as hours though. Leave in the dark and come back home in the dark. Really can't get anything done. I got Christmas and Christmas Eve to get my wiring done. :guitar3:

I love your idea. This thread is a perfect representation for monumental things.

A 2UZ V8 in a 4Runner... that's definitely a first for a 3rd gen. This thing is gonna haul ass!

I vote you buy a set of ****ty wheels and tires off craigs, put it 4 wheel drive, have a friend video tape, NAIL on the gas.

No one will ever forget who Singtoe is.
