Looks like Singtoe has been contracted out by NASA to build a lunar buggy.

Doing the math, if there is 7" of supension travel and you multiply that by 2 axles. The drive shaft should have 14" of travel from full stuff to full droop.
Any flaws with the math? I will have to put two slips in the shaft to get the travel needed.
As for the transfercase mounted on the middle axle. I think that welding 1/4" brackets to the pumpkin and bolting it to the transfer case. Should suffice.
Other interesting tibets. If I use a limited transfer case, it will have the use of a differential (like a semi Tractor) and have all the rear wheels drive but be able to differentiate around turns.
If I use a standard standard transfer case it will only drive one axle and locked for 6x6 drive.
Only downside is that the limited transfer case is much bigger than the standard j-shift and I wouldn't want the extra weight on the middle axle.

I still say make it a half track.
One drive axle, one "dead" axle, but you have tracks. Plus you still have norm wheel steering.
If you do the 6x6, the transfer case in the back is going to be a pain in the ass.
You'll have to mount the t-case, reverse the pumpkin so that you can get the t-case to work on both rear axles, or make a whole new pumpkin with an input and output shaft.
If you're wanting to do that, just do a SAS, and throw the Rockwell Duce and a half axles under it, and clearance the bottom bulge.
Either way you go, you're going to need another Tacoma bed/frame to extend/ blend. I'm all down to help ya out.

But seriously. If i build it, paint it dark earth, apply my business logos on it and write it off. I could expo it out at parades and trade shows...

One thing I will say, is Virginia has bumper height laws, where the big trucks can't lift themselves too much. But in North Carolina, they don't have that, at least to my knowledge. So everytime I go to Nags Head or Hatteras, all the drivers belittle me. There are some massive trucks in NC, no doubt. I've never seen an Excursion on 42" until I went down to NC.
